Should Schoolgirls, who becomes pregnant and have a baby be allowed to remain in education, or should they be thrown out of school when their pregnancy becomes known? teenage pregnancy is seen as a major social problem in many countries. as many of these unmarried mother's are 16 or younger and in full time education.this raises the question about whether they should continue in school or be made to leave.it they should remain in education, should schools, and education authorities have to pay for special facilities to support them, including creches to provide childcare while they are in class, etc.? what you think about it ?

Hello pkkhichar, I think girls who are pregnant shouldn't be thrown out of school, Actually I think girls who are pregnant that are NOT in school should go back to school (Makes more sense) If they are in school which is a good thing they shouldn't be thrown out because they are pregnant life would be even harder because how will they be able to get a job? considering that most jobs require at least high school diploma

I really like your response, especially the part about girls who are pregnant going back to school if they are not already there ... it definitely makes more sense to me!

I don't understand why they should be thrown out? Life with child will be difficult. They should finish proper school or continue education till the moment they can. If people thrown them out what kind of life they would have? No education, with child. What kind of future their child will have if the mother got no education and can not provide for the child?

I think that school girls that do get pregnant should be able to stay on at school and get good qualifications. It would be excellent if each county could have five free creches for such school girl's babies. Many school girls do end up getting pregnant and they need to have a good future for the good of their baby boy or baby girl. I think that a 16 year old unmarried mom should be allowed to work or study and get free child care.

Everyone has the right to education. Having a child at an early age is not a reason to be thrown out of school! On the contrary. These girls should be informed about the advantages of finishing school, as opposed to the opportunities they miss if they choose to interrupt their studies. I think they should talk to a counsellor before taking any decision. The school can provide such specialized help.

I agree with a few people here, they should be forced to finish if anything. Remember, a child's primary education comes from the parents, especially the mother, not from school. Not to mention, every chance you give the mother, you give the child. Any sort of long-term punishment for pregnancy directly effect the child's life. The mother should be socially encouraged to get as much education and be as successful as possible, because that greatly increases the chance for the child. Any sort of in-school child care is an extremely cheap price to pay for a successful future.

I agree with you. I think that if a child gets pregnant she'll need all the help she can get through school. If she is forced to finish school, in the end she will be happier in knowing that she is giving her baby a better chance at life in the end. I know lots of girls who got pregnant and tell me, "I wish I would have finished high school." I think it would be a great idea to make kids go through school.

I am always with those girls, sometimes ago I saw a movie in Hindi " Keya Kehna" in this matter, if a school girls become pregnant (Unmarried) , what is the problem if she want to continue her education ? I do not think she are doing something wrong, all times girls are not responsible for this issue.

no because they need to learn. what the system should do is teach these kids before they get pregnant so to avoid them getting pregnant in the first place.

of course they shouldn't be thrown out of school. they should get as much support to complete their education, so that they are able to provide as best they can for their child. denying them an education will just exacerbate the problem.

I definitely think that they should remain in school, but I do not think that they should receive any special treatment UNLESS they have a medical problem that causes them to need special accommodations that can be verified by a doctor's note. I do think that they should be allowed to make arrangements for making up work when they have to be out to have the baby, especially if their delivery falls during the school year, but it should be their responsibility to make sure this gets done. I also do not think that the school should provide childcare for them once the baby is born. They should be responsible for arranging proper care for their baby while they are at school. Again, the only exception to this that I can think of is if the baby has special needs that do not allow for this kind of care. In that event, then perhaps the mother can have tutors or something come to her home, but that would only be in a very rare circumstance and only for as long as absolutely necessary.

Every girl has a right to join the school even she is pregnant not her mistake.. You are right teenager pregnancy is major problem but not due to this she cant join the school no one can thrown her. Now she should continue go to the school but care about other person because other takes the benefit of this and harrash her..

Why should they be thrown out? We all need as much education as we can possibly get to deal with our situations. But you do raise a valid point about the increase in expenses for theeducators. But, I think it is the mother's responsibility to find, and pay for, a care-giver while she is in school. The government shouldn't have to pay for everything.

I think that young mothers should be able to come back to school. Actually, I never saw some young pregnant girl be thrown out of school, at least here in my country, this don't happen. Most of the times, is the girl decision to drop out the school until she have her baby. The bad things is that a lot of girls decide to not come back to school to take care of her son. I think in a case of a young mother, the grandmother should help on the education of her daughter's son. This is the only way for the girl come back to school since I don't think the authorities would pay for facilities for these girls.

Hello Pkkhichar. I have two points of view about this: First I think they should stay in the school and be like an example to the other girls to see all the problems that come after going out to hangout with a man that only wanted to play with her, it is good that she stay in the school in order the friends how the life changefor a person that eventhought is a minor have to do adults things now and have adults responsabilities, just because wanted to try adults things. But on the other sied I think they should spetial schools for them because is gonna to be difficult for her having a baby an going everthing single day to the school, maybe she can study only or take classes on saturday like I did.So she can take care of the baby, bacause anyway is her responsability and have to be her priotity from now on, now is not more about her spoilt herself, buying things for her now is about buying things for the baby.

The decision to have a baby while still in school shouldn't have any effect for her to continue at school. It's not easy, but that's her child and if she can't look at people and be proud then what kind of a parent will she be. I work at a school and I have seen pregnant girls, they don't get treated any differnt, and for the schools to pay for additional services....you would be surprise what they have to pay for!

Hi pkkhichar, They should continue with their schooling even if they are pregnant. Once they stop, they will lose the desire to go back to school again. They will be occupied with the baby. How about their future? The parents of pregnant teens should be there to guide them at this time, ready to give support. It will not do any good if they are thrown out and banished. Later on, things will work out good, the baby taken cared of, and the teenage mom learning her most important lesson in life. With financial and moral support from family and relatives, she will have the courage to start a new life, pursue with her studies up to college and get her diploma. A bright future ahead is waiting for her and the baby with guidance from family, and help from the school.
