Last year to put it frank, my birthday sucked. My birthdays are never that grand. I figure as you become older and now being an adult with my kids of my own, my birthday gets pushed to the side. I do my best to make others feel special on their day. I always doa cake and if I can have friends over for my husbands bday. My kids always have a party. Family I send them cards. I have thrown a surprise party for a friend. Another I surprised her by picking up her daughter, bringing her lunch, a cake and a gift and her husband came home early to take her out for her bday for an overnight. Last year my husband made cheif and used that as an excuse to have not put much effort into it. This year he is gone out to sea. We will see fam a cpl days after my bday to do a party for my son and my sister in-laws bday will be while were visiting. I cant help but throw a pity party for myself full knowing no one will think about mine. I hate getting older, but I hate getting forgotten especially after all the effort I put into others.

I do not have birthday parties for my birthdays, but like pampering myself, with or without people around me. I plan one of my favorite activities and prepare or go out for something I enjoy eating. And when I am at home after meals, I take out my cherry pie or pecan pie or creamy lemon pie and a bottle of club soda or homemade ginger drink and just have a ball while watching Tom & Jerry or a favorite science fiction movie! Believe it or not, I actually enjoy time by myself. I am always crowded and one of my favorite things is to do my own stuff by myself. While I go places with people, I enjoy going places by myself. I have never been emotionally dependent I guess.

I like being a lone to. My husband is out to sea and I have my kids. Thought about just doing kind of what you said. Food I like and just being lazy so to say. Get a little treat for us and have fun. Ill try to make the best of it like I normally do.

Don't worry. I never celebrate my birthdays. When I was a child my family did not celebrate it. No presents, co cake. Maybe that is why I hate my birthday now when I'm adult. I always celebrate my partner's birthday ( tomorrow) as he is the most important person in my life. I try to remember about birthdays of my family and friends. Always send them cards ( my family lives in different country than I do) or phone them. Most of the time they forget about my special day so I don't celebrate it. I care for others like you do.

Im sorry to hear this. Its important to feel special. Hard to be over looked. Its nice what you do. I want to make others feel special and it makes me feel good when they feel recognized. Maybe some day some one will surprise you for your day.

Today morning I left on the table present for my partner. He was so surprised and I really enjoy this moment when he opened the boxes. Seeing his smile and knowing that he is happy this is the best present for me. I don't with to celebrate my birthday. I celebrate my partner's birthday.

Aww Tink. Happy Birthday. I hope somebody spoils you this year for a change.. Birthdays are the one day that should be just about you! Forget the numbers, as you get older you don't want to be reminded. A few years ago one of my friends surprised me with lunch with a group of my friends it was so nice. Usually I have to make the effort for myself... It is my daughters birthday today and mine in 5 more days. I organized a BBQ this year for the both of us as we have moved and are building our home so I'm not totally organised to do big celebrations. It's nice to keep things simple anyway... I hope you end up having a lovely day, with a lovely suprise or two.. Best Wishes from Pinklilly

My birthdays aren't too grand as I get older. However, family members and close friends tend to send me birthday cards and well wishes. Family members will most likely get me a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion and treat me to a simple dinner. Close friends and I get together once a month and get gifts for each other's birthdays as well.

My birthday was always pushed to the side even as I was a kid. That is why I don't like it. Soon it's my birthday too and I have no intention to celebrate it (even I celebrated my kids their birthday, I don't want them to have the same terrible feeling about birthdays and celebrations as I have). I decided a few years ago to do on my birthday what I like to do. Even if it's doing nothing, staying in bed or I go elsewhere. I must say since I decided to do that my birthdays are much better. The only thing that stinks are the terrible presents I (still) get. The unwanted ones. To me this is a sign those who give them to me don't know me at all. They still don't know me after all these years. I don't hate getting older since for some reason I feel as if nothing has changed since I graduated.

I dont know why its so hard for others to put a little thought into someone day. I want my kids to love their birthdays. Mine were celebrated until I moved out and than it has been pushed to the side. I think it kind of bugs me because my Mom is so into who gives her cards and does things for her and she does get me stuff for my birthday but as far as planning anything when were down nobody does that. I just continue to plan for others. Maybe Im missing what I use to have. I hate getting older, but it would be nice to feel special on my one day out of the year. Im going to just try and do somethings I want to do and be as lazy as I can with two kids. Hope you have a good birthday this year!

My birthday is also coming, but I'm not hated it. I'm very much thankful for everything I have when my birthday comes. I love surprises which I made to my family and friends. Maybe they surprise you also. However, I did not inspecting any of it. I'm only wishing that I'm always healthy with my family so that I'm always feel fresh and younger even my age goes higher.
