There is a lot on my mind, my Dad is about to be 61 years old and it's hard for him to get a job because people will look at the age and not at the person. He had unemployment but, that was taken from him and so now he has no choice but to move. My Dad has 3 dogs and, a cat. The problem was first they had no place to stay. Now thank God got them a place one is going to be with my mom and 2 with my Boyfriends sister. The cat with my brothers girlfriend. Right now my dad will have to stay with my sister for now. Times are really hard and, right now my job works but, it's like temporally jobs it's random which he needs something more stable. All I can do is Pray and I have been for weeks now. I know God will do the impossible. All have to do is have faith, America is becoming a Mess. finding a Job is more then a mission. When I think about I'm thankful everyday that I have a JOB. god answer my prayers I'm sure he will do the same for my father.

Hi Payout! I am sorry to hear about your dad's situation. Yes times are very tough for so many. Gosh he has to be very down and sad as I am sure he thought things would be different in life. I will pray for him as well, my friend, this is terrible for him to have to live daily. I do know what it is like being without work as I too have been out for over a year and desperately looking daily. I hope there are better days ahead and yes the positivity is what gets us all through it.

Hey HWG, My dad is humble person lol., so most of the time he has it all under control at least his emotions and is a very kind helping person. Thank you for your prayers. :) when 2 or more agree it shall come to pass. :) remember that haha.. Yeah finding a job seems almost like a impossible situation yeah I was looking for jobs for months and and I pray and pray and I had to pick a choice bank number 1 and bank number. 2 hahaha.. I felt bless haha.. Having the option of both even though one turn me done they were interested in me. I'm bless indeed. Well yeah all I can do is pray and hope for the best and know that there is a promise and a light in the end of the tunnel.

It really is tough as finding a job is like a full-time in itself.

Yah, it felt like a job when I was loing for one even though I had. Part time job not a good one thought now I have a part time job but it's a good job which I'm happy with. I think the harder you look and the harder you try the better.

Yeah, you should be thankful you're still earning money. There are a lot of people who're unemployed these days and would do pretty much anything just to earn money. Getting a job these days is getting harder and harder and a there are also a lot of employees getting laid off from work because of lack of funds. You should value the fact that you still have a job.

It's good to know that. I also appreciate the fact that I have a job. I'm not really that diligent when it comes to my work but I try my best not to get sacked pretty soon. Plus, earning your own income feels great. It's your hard-earned money so you won't feel guilty spending it. Although, I watch where I spend it, of course. I don't wanna turn out too affluent.

Sorry to hear your family is going through such a hard time. You are absolutely right about searching for fulltime work. No one wants to hire fulltime employees. I worked as a temp for 9 months and then the company finally hired me on fulltime this week. Scary thing about that is they can now lay me off at any time. As a contracted employee, they couldn't lay me off. They were obiligated to my contract until it expired. Best Wishes!

Swwallace, Wow, consider yourself bless because some jobs with no contract and they are full time have no idea what's going to hit them, I remember hearing a company laying off thousands. And now I know 2 people of that group and they are still unemployed. Times are vey hard and not much we can do like my dads situation just be happy and humble and pray. Best wishes to you as well. And congrats

Ur dad should do paid online surveys - the legit ones. His age is a sure hit with survey companies.

The world thinks the US is this super power that just has money to thrown around. Reality is we have a high unemployment rate. In my area unemployment is at 12% which is a crazy figure if you think about it. One in 8 is not working. We need to be happy that we have a job even though the pay might not be amazing, the fact is we can eat and provide a roof over our heads. Has your dad thought about maybe starting his own business(something small he knows well)?

Hey cholent, I don't think he has anything in mind of starting a business he really doesn't have money to start it. Right now he is trying to work as much as possible. Because he still has my younger sist and brother to tyake care of. But, right now things are hard. Where we live very populated but starting. Business can become a down fall over here if it doesn't thrive. 12% I agree is insane wow is all I have to say towards that. This is becoming real bad.

Too bad about your dad, and too bad about all the millions of others who are in the same boat. Like my son. He's been unemployed for almost 2 years now, and he has a wife and son. He served in the military during Desedt Strom, and feels that he is being pushed aside by the country that he served. I guess, just like a lot of others, you dad will have to find a way to survive. I'm not sure if praying is gonna help. God helps those who help themselves.

I always thought that finding a job in America is too easy, but i guess that was true before their economy took a plunge a year back. My grandparents who live in California got a volunteer job. My grandfather used to work at LA City hall at the Mayor's office and my grandmother at the hospital. They only stopped due to health reasons at the age of 85.

I know what you feel. I have experienced being jobless once in my life. It's really hard to find a job especially when you are already 61 years old. I think at his age he should be resting in the house. Why don't you process his retirement benefits? That will help. Crisis in america has really a great impact all over the world. Because they are powerful country. I hope fate will be good for you and your family.
