When I was younger, my dad used to tell me "Money is falling from the sky, AND you're still sleeping". Just a way to get me up and about in the morning. These are the words repeatedly said when one wakes up almost midday. But if it were true, wouldn't it be wonderful? And everyone would've been rich by now. WOndering what to do with the money..

Money falls from the sky? Oh yeah, it ever happened in my country See this link: http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/02/when-cash-falls-from-the-sky/ And FYI, even it was wonderful, it was not making everyone rich :P But now we can get real with this words: "Money is falling from the sky, AND you're still sleeping" "Oh, come on. Everyone out there already get prepare to pick money from sky, why do you still sleep?"

Well, even his race is maybe a Chinese, his nationality is still Indonesian. I guess he born and grew up in Indonesia Anyway, he stated that he wanted to share his money with people that needed it. What an unique way to do a charity :D And unfortunately, I was not around there when the money fell down. It was on different city, so I just watched it via TV.

Whoa! It did happen. And in some parts of the world. But I feel unlucky to be a part of many. I am sure many suffer from bruises and fights begin once money starts raining and greed starts rising. :c

Hi emjay! Yeah, I've also heard that told to lazy people who get up so late in the morning. I have a niece and a nephew who wake up so late on weekends that it really gets on my nerve. They're so lazy. But if money would really be falling from the sky everyday, then I guess no one would be sleeping anymore because all they will do is wait for the money. Well, that's true for greedy people anyway. And I think a lot of people will be fighting with each other over the money. Who caught which and which fell on one's property. There will be lots of trouble!

I don't think so. They probably would just think that they are being nagged.

Would the same words work also with your niece and nephew? lol..I hope so. The human being's sense of materialism is innate, much more the sense of being territorial. Good thing, no money is raining form the sky.

I like that. It shows an expression that is not common here. We might say "make hay while the sun shines" or "the early bird gets the worm." to mean something similar. If money were falling from the sky I would get a new roof, I think.

A new roof? The basic of needs must be met first before anything else follows. A wise choice. My first transaction would be food. lol..

I believe if money feel from the sky and everyone had loads of it then money would not have a value. Why work if you already had money. People would get lazier and not work for a living, plus to much of something good can be bad.

Thanks but really how would we get people to work and do labor if they had all the money they could imagine? The world would not run as smoothly as we are now. What could we offer someone that money could not buy?

Good quote "too much of something good is bad". As with sweets, you get diabetes. With money, you get lazy, some gets greedier. That is awful. People would kill get others' money. Not a good scenario.

Sometimes, the abstract things matter most. Simple joys, gift of friends, beauty of company. We need to see things differently if we are all wealthy. We can only live better if what we have is shared and the joy is passed on.

Of course that would be amazing! But only if it were falling in the sky and WE caught it - not everyone - because then, inflation would happen and everything would go to h*ll - it would screw the economy up. Ok, I'm not trying to be so logical, but it's true! LOL. There's something nice about working for your money, maybe that's just me. I sometimes have to remind myself, when I wake up around 5:30 AM for work and can't even un-glue my eyes from being shut until after the 2nd cup of coffee, that, it's all for money! And it beats not having the chance to make any! Yanno?

I agree. It is much better to have opportunity and work than to just fall into money. I think it would make me lazy.

It seems like a far-fetched idea. I also believe that money that comes from hardwork is sweeter and the wisest of decisions spring from conscious effort on spending money earned. :)

Haha yep that would have been wonderful, seeing money fall from the sky. But I bet there'd be a lot of pushes and shoves in order to get the most coz no one will ever get enough of it and everyone would want to get more than what they grab hold of. Anyway thanks for the share, it's an interesting way to get one to wake

Yeah probably most of the money they'll fight for will go to the medical attention later!

Indeed. What is falling from the sky should only be rain or snow. Naturally, of course as it was in the beginning.

A byword for those who were waking up late. In which for my opinion it means 'we earn more money if we start working early.

Coming late for work is never good. Even so, you'd be earning only one major award by doing so "Early expulsion". :(

It will indeed fall for you. It comes in many ways. It may be a bonus from work, winning a raffle and the like. Good luck.

Seems impossible but it really did happen one time, money rained from the sky. It happened in America i forget exactly where, but money literally fell from the sky one day in a slum area and people went out of their house to gather all the money and keep it to themselves. Was it a miracle? No. An armored car owned by the bank had an accident and money fell off from the bridge and fell into the slum area. The police tried to recover the money back but it was too difficult since everybody wanted to keep it except for an old woman and a child. But the money they returned only amounted to $10. Nevertheless, Disney heard of the child's honesty, they rewarded the child a free trip to Disney land with all his friends.

That was a sudden case then. For someone living in slum areas, money from the sky is considered a blessing. Greed takes over and would want to keep the money for themselves. I commend the child and an old woman. Rarely do we get to see honest people nowadays. Thanks to Disney for the treat for the kid. SO nice :D

wonderful! once time we will think it's very good ! But when we think the problems it will not so good. that time all will build big houses. There are no workers . people will become lazy!

MOney is very easy to spend and must always be a challenge for us to gain. Easy money is good but too much of it for all makes it have no worth.
• Philippines
3 Sep 11
If that were true, it would be wonderful but I think money will lose its value by then since it will become a common thing. Money is hard earned because of its value, time is gold and that saying is synonymous to Money is falling from the sky and you're still sleeping, if you were to sleep your life away into laziness, you'd never be able to achieve the riches that you wanted.

Work is essential. Productivity is something earned not something given. And the reward? Bets achieved with persistence and dedication.

That's a good question. If money fell from the sky everybody would have enough to spend for their needs. But in the long run, having money fall from the sky will lessen its value probably to zero and that would be worse because everybody will revert back to the old barter trading system.
@emjay86 (640)

Then that case would simply mean "History repeats itself". Oh no! If we are to believe this and the theory of evolution, we'd revert to being monkeys.. :(

True. Dreams can be attainable only through hardwork. If it is easily gained then that would either be luck or not really A dream at all.

oh yeah it is like "the early bird gets the worm" quote. Because if you are still sleeping by midday there are already a lot of things which passed you. You could also have done several tasks as well. But if money would be falling from the sky it wouldn't have value anymore. It will be just like stones on the ground.

Money as stones on the ground is indeed nothing. I guess many are finding ways to get someone to wake up early much like the sayings shared. Thank you.

Wow what a topics, yes I am agree with you, I am also know a phrase " Money Falling from Sky" when I am complete my 9th standard that time my father told me this phrase , that Time I want to buy a PC, That time My Father was not happy with me.

Why would your happy suddenly turn all sour when he told you that phrase? Is it a sin to believe what he said? *confused* I feel sorry for what happened for you.

If that is true, I'll surely get up off my bed to get the falling money. How I wish money just fall from the sky and the only thing you need to do is to pick it up and spend it up. But still, money isn't everything. It is only a construct of man and hence not that important. I'd rather have food falling from the sky everyday for everybody to be happy.

Food? Sorry..I was thinking that the "Soup-y" dishes would be falling and then we'd all get wet. Reminds me of the movie, "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs". Never seen it but quite the thought.

If money would be falling from the sky, that would be an amazing thing and every one would get rich and enjoy... If we think on other way is this was it than no one would workand every one would become lazyand the exitement in every one's life will end....

CORRECT! Laziness is coupled with having the convenience of modern living right at your fingertips. Mind would become dull soonest.

That's a pretty nice line ! Money falling from the sky. It'd be so nice to just wake up and then watch dollar notes fall right at our feet, wouldn't it ? Nice thought somehow ! If that were the case...

Just a thought. But some parts of the world, something like this already happened. So, I guess..we'll just wait when's our turn in our respective areas. :)
