It depends very much on which operating system you have. As I understand it, Asus first shipped the eepad with an embedded Windows 7 operating system. There should (theoretically) be no problem installing Yahoo Messenger on this: you simply need to go to Yahoo, download the Messenger installer (which is really simply a download manager and quite small), run it - making sure that you are online when you do - and you are ready to go. However, the reports I have read of the Windows 7 eepad suggest that it is rubbish! It runs incredibly slowly and many early models simply didn't work at all.
I see that Asus released an eepad with an Android operating system (3.0 Honeycomb) in June 2010 (in the US). Again, theoretically, there should be no problem installing Messenger. You just go to the Android Marketplace, download the Y! Messenger app and install it.
There are other options besides Y! Messenger, however. There are many third-party apps (for both Windows and Android) which will connect you with Yahoo as well as MSN and many other IM providers, all in one interface. For Windows, Trillian is one of the best known and easiest to set up. You do lose some functionality, especially with the proprietary features such as the emoticons, but such apps are very useful if you have contacts and accounts on Yahoo, MSN and ICQ, for example. You can chat in each of these simultaneously and using the same single app.
First of all, I suggest that you go to the Yahoo site and look for 'install Messenger' or 'Messenger download' and then follow the procedure for whichever OS you have.
