May be the persons you know might have given original details but the fact is that about 20-30% of facebook accounts are fake(according to a research)

I think it all depends on how well you know that person. Let's say you know a friend very well and she/he poses their pictures online and places all those information about themselves. If you know them well and how they are in offline, then, what they write speaks much about them, which is true. But if you don't know them well at all, then, all you do is just read up on what they say and you won't even know how real their characters are only until you've only actually met them in person and being able to talk with them. So these things can be different.

I guess it depends if you met the person and got to know the person. I dunno. Some people whom I thought were interesting who I have met in both facebook and person, i sometimes certain people are picky on whom they add or what not. Maybe if we did face reading or photo reading of a person and to describe the person, we can observe some details..lol.
Some people aren't who they are on facebook or in original person.

I think that people are always capable of misrepresenting themselves, regardless of whether or not it's done using a Facebook profile. I do think that it is easier to do on Facebook, though; but let's not forget that we cannot see the emotion or the context in which something is written in a profile or status.

Some can be and some maybe a bit different online then they are offline. For some it can be easy to behave a certain way online as they feel it is the easiest way to be themselves where they perhaps will not be so quick to be judged. As they would by offline peers.
It is hard to delineate a true yes and or no because some can be fake and quick to pretend online, where no one can see them directly.
I see you are new, welcome aboard!

Yes and No.
Yes, because I ever met a person that used to rant in Facebook. And yeah, she frequently rants in a real life.
No, because I also ever met a person that have a significant difference in his personality when he is at Facebook and when he is on real life.
So, I have to say, it totally depends.
