I get really tired of news people and weather people saying that something is the most something or another ever. Many of them were saying the recent Earthquake on the East coast was the largest(worst) ever and just how could they possibly know that? It may well have been the largest on record but that is the best they could say. My guess is that the meteor that hit in the Gulf of Mexico and caused the dinosaur extinction quite likely would have caused Earthquake effects at that range that were large for one possibility.
