tomatoes are packed full of anti-oxidants, particularly the anti oxidant Lycopene, which is thought to help fight cancerous cells. it's also good for heart conditions and high cholesterol.
there is also research underway that indicates that regular consumption of tomato is good to prevent degeneration of eyesight.
it is also thought to be beneficial for people suffering from athsma.
as well as the anti oxidants, tomatoes contain Vitamin C, Vitamin A, potassium, and folic acid
so you see, tomatoes are actually very very good for you, so advising people to avoid it is not a good idea.

The link you have provided is really informative my friend. I too loves to eat tomatoes especially salads. I used it as a side dish for fried or grilled fish or used in cooking too. Some people prepared it without the seeds but for me it doesn't matter because for me I enjoy it better if with seeds.

There is also irrefutable evidence that eating too many tomatoes causes your head to swell, turn red and become a rich source of nonsense. Tomatoes do not cause kidney or gall stones, but are rich in anti-oxidants and may even help to prevent prostate issues in men.

What??!!?? Do you have a credible source of information to back up what are saying about or you are just playing around us here?
See,you don't have any details about your claim..
You just proclaim " Tomato is BAD! " without even saying WHY?
Please explain it or else you are just trolling around..

I wonder my friend, where did you get this information??? If that is true then a lot of people who eats tomatoes would have already gotten kidney problems long time ago. Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and is an antioxidant to battle even cancer.
It is much more dangerous to consume soda drinks which can harm your kidneys rather than consuming tomatoes. Probably you can remove the seeds of the tomatoes if you are troubled about getting stones, but never ask people to avoid eating tomatoes because tomatoes are good for our health. Consuming it everyday is not even a problem, there is no scientific evidence to prove that reducing the consumption of tomatoes may give one person a healthy kidney.

Wow.. that is both useful and scary information... I guess there are always to sides to everything. I love eating tomatoes, especially paired with fried fish- I have always heard that they can help our body a lot, thanks for this info. I guess to much of anything is bad too.

I don't know but I think it's misleading my friend. There are some reviews that eating tomatoes do more good to our body defenses against some illnesses. The benefits derived from eating tomatoes are more favorable. And yes too much of anything can also be bad to ourselves so moderation is a must.

Really? Tomatoes are bad for the kidneys? I don't think such information is correct. What is your source? Maybe some details are missing to make tomatoes bad for the kidneys. I know that too much of a thing is bad for health and a balance in eating habits is indicated. Maybe by far too much tomatoes are bad or a sort of tomatoes. Can you give more details of the information?

I never realize that the Tomato can cause the stone in our kidney.
So far, I just know that the tomato can help us a lot in preventing the cancer.
After searching around, I found some articles which related to your statement.
Tomato's seeds can really increase the chances of getting kidney stone for male and female.
Now I understand that not only the tomato, but other vegetables with seeds as brinjal, ladyfinger and so on will increase the consumption of oxalate
.
This Oxalate is the main component of the calcium stone.
To prevent the formation of stone, we must consume very much of citrate to solute
this calcium oxalate.
Just keep in mind all the while.

Does that mean that kidney stones are more common with people who live in South and East Europe since tomatoe salads are more populair/normal over there? It's a bit hard for me to believe. And how about tomatoe kechup etc?

Really? I did not know that tomatoes can lead to formation of stones in kidney. Where did you read that information? I have always thought and read somewhere that tomatoes are actually good for our health and skin, it is a good anti-oxidant and can prevent cancer. I love cherry tomatoes! I hope it isn't true.

Well, as per studies published every now and then, tomato is a healthy food loaded with anti-oxidants and is said to be food for the heart. I cannot live without tomato for a day. Kidney stones are made up of excess sodium that the kidney cannot filter anymore so a lot of salt will lead you to having UTI and later on stones embedded in your kidney.

There is a misconception about the role of tomatoes, especially raw tomatoes in diet in the formation of kidney stones. It is true that eating tomatoes as well as eating more green leafy vegetables and vegetables with seeds such as brinjal, ladyfinger does increase the consumption of oxalate which is a very important component of calcium stones. However, the oxalate that comes in the urine is only 10% from the ingested products, 90% of urinary oxalate comes from the body’s own formation. The amount of absorption of oxalate by the intestine is always regulated in accordance with the level of oxalate in the body. And unfortunately, no medications have yet been developed to put that oxalate into solution. However, the high intake of citrate causes increased solubility of calcium oxalate and thereby helps in preventing stone formation. Thus we have a false belief that intake of tomatoes increases the risk of kidney stones in a person. Rather, the truth is that intake of tomatoes with other green vegetables is good for preventing and to some extent curing kidney stones.
