In the movies, you can always tell when people meet their true love for the first time because they look at each other in this special way, like they recognize each other even though they've never met before. I know that things are different in real life, but is meeting your true love the same as falling in love at first sight? Is it like meeting someone who is so totally like you that they are your other half??

Well I would say yes and no. They will have a Lot of similarities, but being your true love doesn't mean they're exactly like you. There Needs to be some differences, otherwise it will lead to boredom and irritations with one another.
I know some people don't always even like the person who turns out to be their true love, when they first meet. Sometimes it takes a while to really figure that out, by getting to know the other person.
I think a lot of this 'love at first sight' is chemical attraction, but not entirely. I've met one man (and I'm very shy so this is a big thing) who I was instantly comfortable around. We never had a hard time talking, about ANYthing! lol We dated for a while, and broke up, but still best friends. I will always love him. In some ways he's a true love, just not one I can marry. :( I do think for the most part you will recognize something special in that person, when you first meet.
