Everyone will gonna say that they proud be XXXX citizen (XXXX = country) ... but is that for real? Will you act the same went you choose product to use? I'm not sure that I can answer it if the question related to product, specially went we must compare local product with global product. In my opinion we must realistic. If global product had better price, quality or both ... why we must stick with nationalism, I gonna buy it for sure. How about you guys, do you ever questioning yourself about these matter? What will you do?

i always choose the product which is of good quality and also of reasonable price. if its locally made here in my own country the Philippines then i am doubly happy. sometimes imported products are not of good quality either. i look at the quality of the product i am buying not if its "local" or "imported"

its very hard to be nationalistic when it comes to the products we use especially now when money is very hard to earn. and i think its also good not to patronize locally made products that are not of good quality so as to challenge local manufacturers to produce globally competitive products; competitive in cost and in quality.

I think you are right. You must have to choose the best product. If it is from foreign companies we have to choose it. We must not depend on local product. The purchasing of local product will enrich tin national growth. In the same way buying global product also increase our economy. If the global companies have to pay tax and there many personal from native who works there. If our local companies produce good product or service I will choose it. But in case of non availability ?I will choose global product. It is because money is precious to me and we stick on good product as usual.

But what if you have to choose in these condition: 1. local product had cheap price but poor in quality? 2. local product had high price but quality relative similar with global? For condition 1, I gonna choose global For condition 2, well ... it depend on my wallet condition ...

I think it varies. There are times I buy American and times I don't. Quality has a lot to do with my decisions, but I also like to support American goods because many are unemployed and need the work. This is true of people all over the world. I am an American and I also feel I am a citizen of the world. I pray for and do what I can to help everyone.

Quality has a lot to do with it, but price will always be a factor too. Sometimes compromises have to be made when price is over the top.

Local product is cheaper than imported. That is the point of view from a person who lives in the philippines, you will enjoy shopping because of the low rate of peso versus dollar. But for US citizen, I think they prepare imported products. Because the cost of living in the us is very high.

Not prepare but prefer, just correction. Local product not always cheaper than imported. It depend on many factors. But for foreign travelers, I think is not just about cost of living in their country but also influenced by their traveling budget.

If I have to choose between a local product and a product that is made in USA, for instance, I will definitely choose the latter. I have noticed the difference between USA products and those made in another country, in terms of quality. So I am prepared to pay a higher price for quality.

Your standard is way too high for me .... hiks I always buy on averages (price and quality). I don't care which one is local or global, as long they had reasonable price with good quality I gonna buy it.

Maybe I should clarify...I actually don't mind local products or products from anywhere. But for certain things like piano, for instance, quality is very important to me and so I will rather pay more to ensure that it's durable.

as a customer I want to buy a less expensive product with high quality, I dont care where it is coming from. I think it is ridiculous to claim that buy local product is equal as nationalism, there are many ways to show how much we love our country and to support our country. if local product want to compete with the imported product, the producer or the manufacturer should improve their quality and not by asking people to buy their product in the sake of nationalism. and I dont like when people judge our nationalism because we are using imported product, it is not because we dont love our country but because we want the best product that we can afford.

I agree with you, but could be nice if we can help our country/citizen by buying local product, don't you think? (in some condition of course)
