Each time you enter a discussion, you remind yourself of the guidelines. If you do not mind deletions then there are no worries and you take chances as to which discussion you enter.
After being a member here for sometime I have the guideline memorized. There is really not much to remember in the do not. Things like poll, jokes, recipes and milestones stick out each time I see them. As members it is our individual responsibility to know them and or not worry and take chances.
As for how long it takes for discussions to be deleted is strictly an admin issue of which no one really can answer. I can take a guess and say our admins are humans so they can get behind on their sweeps and finally catch up to find the violations. This happened to me once after 6 days and we either learn the guidelines and or continue to get deletions.

yes you are right friend..but sometimes I don't find out any violation and in that case also discussion get deleted..
I think the reason of getting late to delete a discussion may be the abuse report has been made after a long time..and when it already got too much response..
I think there is a team in mylot continuously monitoring our discussion..and also we should report abuse each time we found a discussion violating the discussion guidelines...

I have had a full discussion in my early days deleted too. It was a sad feeling because it had 80 responses. I did take a look at the guidelines and although I definitely agree it had to be deleted, I was a bit sad. But after being here for some time I do appreciate that myLot does keep the site in order. Trial and error worked for me and hope that anyone who does get deletions does go back and thoroughly understand what the error was so it does not happen to them again.
There are not many paying sites like myLot that have been doing so for five years. So this my friend as hard as it is, somehow we do need to appreciate that if it were not for the deletions myLot would be filled with a great deal of spam and or things that go against the guidelines. If this were to happen we would not have myLot around for years to come.
As dis-heartening as it is somehow I really do appreciate Admins work and efforts.

yes friend..you are right we should always follow those guidelines and we should not spam mylot with links and all..and a discussion starter should be much more careful about those guidelines to keep his /her discussion alive...

The simple answer is "know the Guidelines backwards and in your sleep". I frequently have notifications ... but that is because I often post simply to warn people that their discussions will be deleted ... and WHY.
Some people learn, some take offence and a few even thank me --- and go off and do it again!

One cannot reasonably count on any discussion starter to be careful about the Guidelines. The best solution is to know them well oneself and to report any discussion which clearly violates the Guidelines (as we are requested to do), rather than responding to it, knowing that it will be deleted.

I think discussion starter must be more careful about those guidelines..so that any responder can answer to his/her discussion without any hesitation..

This has happened to me a couple of times before. I got the email from mylot admin saying my response was deleted because the discussion was deleted. My discussion that I have started was also deleted at a point after it got over thirty responses. I really don't know why they do that and why it takes so long before they delete it. If they delete it early before getting many responses that wouldn't be too much of a problem but to wait for all the participation to take place before deleting is a bit unfair I think.

just only couple of times?that's great..
as far as I know mylot team do it because of the discussion guidelines violation..and to keep mylot out of spam ...but the reason behind delay to delete a discussion may be due to the delay in reporting abuse or delay in finding the discussion guidelines violation...admin can give you a clear idea about it...

marinerpulak: When we post responses we never expect a discussion to be deleted. True we are supposed to ensure that the discussion is not violating guidelines. Sometimes in anxiety to post the first response we do not notice. I choose friends' wise, topic wise and then post responses.

marinerpulak: Whenever a person starts a discussion he/she starts with a thinking that the topic is very important and that more responses will and that it is not violation of guidelines. This happens due to anxiety to post. Occasionally it would have happened for many. good day.

But for the responder it is not always easy to find out that the discussion starter has made any mistake to violate any discussion guidelines ..while you have all the guidelines in your mind..

I choose a discussion if I think I can post a proper response and by reading at first the title. Today I was going to post a comment and I noticed that the discussion was deleted. Actually I got few responses deleted. But I understand that nobody likes to get a comment or discussion deleted. I agree with the opinion of them to read the guidelines in order to avoid unkind surprises.

I think all of us choose a discussion here if we think we can post a suitable response to them not only that we also check for any kind of violation made by the discussion as we all don't want to see the notification that our answer or comment has been deleted....But if you have all the guidelines in your mind also you will make some mistake sometimes and the response get deleted and we received just a notification..

hello cattychristina...first of all welcome to mylot ..try to follow the discussion guidelines here to avoid that thing..though it's difficult to judge sometimes ..which discussion will be deleted.....by the way no one of the user can delete a discussion here..you just can post here...and if you think you have made any mistake then just report abuse of that with the reason ..and admin will remove your response...

I got those messages a lot of times and I don't know why or what violation did I commit. But, I really don't mind about that, I can't remember the guidelines for now but i just keep posting. Lucky, if they don't get deleted but unlucky if they are.We just need to be very careful. But honestly, I don't know much about the rules.

It is not good at all..you are loosing money...you can earn more if your response don't get deleted..so be careful while choosing a discussion ...
check this link for the guidelines ..
http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
and go through the Now for the DON'Tssection..it will help you not to violate the discussion guidelines...
and there is one caution too..if you violate the guidelines too much you may loose your account too..

It does not bother me much when I receive these notifications, because most times I know when I am responding that the discussion will be deleted. There have been a couple of times that discussions were deleted and I really did not know what Guideline the discussion violated. A couple of them were asked to be deleted by the original poster of the discussion for various reasons, however, even though they did not violate any Guidelines.

Ummm ... I am not exactly sure what you mean when you ask how there can be a "virus inside a text", so I am not really sure how to answer that. Are you teasing or joking or are you really concerned that there might be a virus here and perhaps it could cause our discussions to be deleted?

It can be hard to determine what to reply to and what not to. Rarely have I posted in a discussion later finding out it was deleted. It's going to occassionaly happen because the starter had no idea or didn't bother to pay attention to what was going on. But, sometimes when reading the discussion, it doesn't screem red flag and you have no reason to suspect otherwise. I simply take a gamble. If the discussion peaks my interest, I'll reply. If not... then I won't. Simple as that.

yes you are right we also don't bother about the guidelines violation..we just go and check the subject if we think we can make a good response then we just post to it ...and unfortunately some times it get deleted...and in this case a discussion starter should be more careful about it...

Hello Marinepulak,
I feel very bad when my response get deleted by admin due to the discussion under it was deleted due to violation of guidelines.
I always try not to respond to the discussion which violates guidelines but then too sometimes i do respond and next day i get the notification of its being deleted from MYLOT.
When i joined MYLOT i used to respond in starting days to most of the discussions but lately i have developed a habit to check it that if it violates the guidelines or not then respond.

yes you are right..I also do the same thing..I also try not to respond to those discussion which have violated the discussion guidelines ..but though my discussion get deleted due to those discussion starter who has not read the discussion guidelines thoroughly and violated the guidelines in a discussion...and if I have all the guidelines in my mind ,I also fail to judge some discussion and make response to those and after some time got the notification that your answer was deleted as the question it was under is deleted...

yes its a matter of sorrow for the person who posted that discussion...but not only that is also very sad feeling for those who has responded to it..
As after you posted a long descriptive response you found a notification that your answer has been deleted as the question it was under was deleted..so the main solution I think will be a non guidelines violating discussion and that should be first take cafe of by the discussion starter.....

same here ..
I also don't find it exciting.....but do you just keep responding to a discussion or choose before you respond to a discussion...that it might get deleted...I choose most of the cases but have seen sometimes the discussion should not get deleted also got deleted..and I have some particular interest where I keep responding to each discussion posted there.. and due to that some response got deleted...
