Stranger's smile

Once my sister and I went to buy drinks. ON the way, a man smiled to me as we are in a hurry, I smiled back. But then, I asked my sister if she knew the man, she said she doesn't. I don't know the man either. But the smiles were exchanged. Funny how life gives you something unexpected (wonderful) and suddenly you simply smiled back. :)

Yes, it's maybe funny sometimes but once a stranger smiles at you it begets smile too. It's our natural instinct unless he/she is your enemy. Like the saying "smile and the world smiles with you". I hope it's correct. But sometimes smiles have meanings especially if it's from a stranger.

Well, we don't know the thinking of some people this days if you knew what I mean. Yes we must continue to show a smile in our face because it do helps us a lot.

Sometimes a smile from a stranger can easily make your day, they say smiles are contagious. So I make sure I smile at people when I pass by all the time. It can make someone's day and you might not even realize it. Did that strangers smile make your day?

I would not take it as a weird thing. Sometimes when you pass someone it is rude not to smile when you look at them and they see you.

In some cities it is looked at as suspicious behaviour to smile at random people. Some would see the stranger as a dangerous person for smiling at a person he doesn't know. But there are places where smiling at people is welcomed and even encouraged. Some even get into conversions with total strangers and it is all fine.

Ah, the beauty of a smile leading to a nice conversation. I see that happening with my dad. I also see this happening with me whenever I got in a long line. The wait is excruciating. But when you get to talking about the line, the wait, people beside you starts talking too and you get to smiling at the act. You found yourself diving in a conversation.

Hi, emkay86. That is how it is for me when I am out in public. Someone may see me and they will smile and greet me warmly as if they already know me. Usually they are just a stranger. I think that it is very pleasant to receive a genuine smile from a stranger that is practically harmless. It makes a person's day seem much brighter.

Well this only shows that smile is contagious. When you smile it begets smile. If a person smiles at you you would be rude if you frowns back isn't it so even if you don't even know the person if he greets you with a smile it is a polite gesture to smile back. Maybe that person is just really very friendly and would love to smile at every one.

I honestly feel that you do not have to know a person in order to smile at them. Actually when you smile at someone it could end up making their day especially if their day has not been going good. In reality it takes less muscles to smile anyways. I feel it is worth smiling at someone no matter who they are.

Yes,this very same thing happened to me. I was walking into a discount bread store and she gave me a warm and friendly smile. It really made my day. Funny how we always think we must know them from somewhere. Only a friend could like us so well. Maybe we have been taught that people are bad or evil out there. The reality is there are good people in this world.

As long as it's a pure unadulterated smile, it's always nice to give a smile back. Sometimes smiling back comes automatically. When somebody gives you one, you just can't help but give a smile back in return.

I know what you mean, people don't seem to interact with strangers anymore, no small talk or a hello or even a smile. Most of the time people just look down but that's probably because they feel uncomfortable because it's unusual to smile or say hello and they don't want uncomfortable eye contact with nothing being said. It's great how just a little thing such as a smile can stick out in your mind. I think everybody should be nice and care about other people, even strangers. Just giving someone a smile like that man did can go a long way in terms of making someone feel good.

I have had some stranger's smile thrown at me too. I used to get really confused before but if someone smiles at me these days, I just smile back. Actually it makes my day when a total stranger smiles at me. Little things that make one happy

isn't it a shame that we are not used to a stranger's smile anymore? That we even might think he want to harm us or follow us back home?
Only a few years ago it was normal to say "hi" on the streets to a stranger. If you do that now we are afraid he wants something from us, we feel even scared.
I hope strangers will keep smiling at me or stay willing to make a spontanous chat with me, since these unexpected things make your day.

I like to think of genuine smiles as the chocolate chips or sprinkles on the ice cream of life.
I truly want to believe that there are still kind, honorable people in this crazy world we live in. Although, I have been burned by so many people, I can't help but want this to exist.
I try to "be the change [i] want to see in the world". The human experience isn't much at all if we don't experience much or step out of our comfort zones ever so slightly!
