Your reaction when yelled at...

How do you react when someone yells at you? for instance you're waiting online to order food lets say at McDonald's and you accidentally step on the persons foot behind you by accident but dont realize it and the person yells and says "EXCUSE ME YOU JUST STEPPED ON ME, SHEESH" how do you react to that? Just wondering because this happened to me before I was so pissed that they had to raise there voice and make a scene so I apologized she kept yelling dammit because I stepped on her toenail which cracked, I told her she didn't need to yell omg she got even louder with me, Ugh

In China there is a saying : if one person gives you a gift, then you refuse it, it will back to the sender. So ,if a guy yell at you ,but you dont recieve ,his yelling will back to him . So dont be angry ahout their rudeness.

I would say: I am so sorry I did not notice it. Have I heard you badly. If that won't be enough I don't know how I will respond. I guess I try to ignore it, since I did not do it on purpose and I did apologize. Never been in such a situation.
