I have seen a topic of interest for discussion on ‘woman’ in mylot. But unfortunately no such category for ‘man’ in mylot has come to my notice. Is it so that there is no such special category for ‘man’ in mylot? Then why women are treated as a privileged section in mylot? Is it not an example of gender disparity promoted by mylot itself ?

As the many have explained the interest categories are not created by mylot Admins, they are created by members themselves. You can create your own anytime, but do search carefully because there are so many repeated ones.
Someone above already added a man category just a moment ago. If you want to add subcategories to it then that would be fine too.

hi DoctorDidi a lot of interests here have been made by other mylotters just like you and I.I a sire myot admins being named
Alex is a man so he did not discriminate nor did he put up the
interest woman. so its up to you to show a newinteres so all
the guys here can have their say too.We are not treated as
anything special here really. Mylot did not promote gender
disparity. why are you trying to stir up a hornets nest?

Probably because there are more women starting categories and men don't. Can't you make one? Women aren't so much treated as a priviledged section here on Mylot. They just start ones they need and men don't seem to. No, it isn't something Mylot promoted itself. It is something that needs to be started. Women do what needs to be done and men put it off.

If you feel that not having an interest category of man listed on mylot, then you can create your own interest category.
With that said, I think that the reason that there is a special interest category for women is that there are a lot of unique things that make a woman a woman and women tend to take pride in those things that do make them a woman while I don't see that to be the case so much for men.

Well, lets look at this more closely, maybe it's because there are more women here on MyLot then men? Maybe, I don't know. I think the reality is that women are more apt to start topics about women because they more apt to compare their feelings about many different issues. Men o the other hand do not look at things in the same way. Now, that said, if you feel this way, then you have the option to start your own category just for men.

My Lot assumes that men won't talk about other men like women do. One guy , unless he is into fashion, will not care what another man wears. And most guys don't discuss relationships in such detail. So there are no interest topics for the man's point of view.

You can create any interest you want. Do it right now, make a good post and your friends will be noticed. THat´s how it all starts. It´s the same as at a party: someone starts a new conversation and, if it´s interesting, others will follow suit.
I´m waiting for your thoughts about men.

I don't think there is anything My Lot can do if nobody wants to write about men.. In my view, for a man to write about another would be a waste of time and a useless pursuit unless he is specifically creating a biography. As for women, perhaps they are too thankless to write about the species who spends more than half their lives thinking about them and patronizing them in every possible way. So they should be blamed and reprimanded if this indeed is the reason. Or perhaps, they think that everybody already knows everything about men so there is nothing new to tell!!...Or, they could be shy???.....Or, they don't want men to feel important by writing anything about them and thus want to retain their supremacy!!

I don't feel that way though. What is wrong with mylot anyway. Why do you need a special category for man anyway? I personally satisfied with all the talking topic in mylot, and I don't see anything wrong with its topics. Maybe you didn't see the right topic in its category list.
