Last Saturday I go to ATM of my bank to cash out some money. After I received my money, I decide to buy some stuff close to ATM place. Went I in cashier to pay the bill, they suddenly said to me that they can't accept my money because counterfeit. WHAT ....??? Just like a bomb in my ear when they said that. ATM supposed to be clean for something like this.
On Monday, I try to talk to bank about this. I think all of you already know what bank gonna say.... Yup, they refuse that is their fault and automatically they refuse to change my money.
What unlucky day ..... hiks

I didn't know that could happen. You are not going to pursue the matter anymore? What if it happens again? Maybe you could go to the bank personally during its opening hours and speak with the manager there? If I were you, I would definitely pursue the matter, unless I am extremely loaded.

Pursue the bank? Impossible for me to win the lawsuit. The only legal prove that I have is just the money and that it's not enough. Besides, the only prove that I have also taken from me. Even in ATM box had camera but that it's belong to the bank not mine, any prove on that is not gonna be appear in law court ( they easily remove any evidence on it)

Does it happen to other people? Does it happen often? Cos if it happens to other people and if it happens often, then why no one complains to the authorities? You can lodge a complaint with the local authorities, isn't it? At least there's still a possibility that you might get back your money.

It happened to a friend of mine also. It was a twenty dollar bill. He was so upset that he just tore it up in front of the person where they recognized it was counterfeit.

I know! It is scary, especially if you withdraw a lot of money. Maybe it's better we pay by check or make the withdrawal at the bank and check the money before we accept it from the teller. I use my credit card a lot and then just transfer the money from my account to pay the credit card at the end of the month.

Im sorry to hear what happened to you, it was not your fault that you got a fake money in ATM the bank should do something and to make an investigation, dont they checked their money before puting it inside the atm machine, the only one who has access to atm machine is the bank and it is almost impossible for outsider to insert the money to the atm machine. You should have reported this case to police because it is involving fake money/counterfeit and im sure there is a bad organization behind this. Police should ask the bank and order the bank to be careful. Im sorry you didnot get your money back. Dont you think you need to report it to YLKI?
By the way did you remember how the fake money looked like so we can take a lesson from it?

I think they already checked the money before putting it in ATM but I doubt on bank employee who make checking on that.
Report on YLKI? You must be kidding me. They gonna laugh on me also. Besides, even I report it to YLKI, I don't think they can help me.
Money look like? In outlook appearance it's identical with real one but the different will appear when the money check by ultraviolet. The fake money showing nothing (just blank) but real money will show some ID logo.
Note: in my case, counterfeit money can't be check by traditional method (see under sun light) but must use additional tool
