Hatley aunty:
Thanks for your response. I am giving the link for the artofliving foundation started by Sri Sri Ravishankarji.

I should have given this in the discussion itself in which case members could have followed it fully.
It teaches us 'kriya' which keeps our mind fresh throughout the day. I visited the foundation headquarters at Bangalore, India. Mainly the organisation lays emphasis on service to others.

Hi Ravisivan
I have been looking to do breathing exercises and or meditation. I have checked a few sites but was not aware of the one you are speaking about. I am in constant headaches and would like to try something self made as opposed to the treatments options given to date.
I took the link from Surekha's box and will be visiting it very soon. Thanks so much for the information.

Please see the link. I am not sure whether the foundation has offices in Pakistan.
In first level they teach kriya - and one has to do kriya every day spending at least 20 mins. Second level is for meditation.
You might have heard about him in Indian news --his efforts to pacify Kashmir militants, -----He is 58 year old man from tamil nadu now having a big following.

Is Kriya a form of exercise or yoga? I've never heard of it before. I know it's hard to find good stress relievers. I'm glad to hear one might actually work. Best Wishes!

I don't know what that is, but I know that on days that I exercise I feel good and on days I don't I feel tired and listless.

Very interesting subject and in fact, this is my first time heard about it. Care to tell more on what you are learning in this program? It is indeed very interesting to know, there's a program like the art of living. By the way, what is "kriya"? I never heard about it, too...

What I believed about art of living is- contentment and happiness within ourselves.
Living a life with peace and serene -in and out.
Knowing the real meaning of our existence- that we do not live for ourselves alone but also for the other people.
Extending help whenever given the chance and opportunity.
And cast everything to the LORD.
have a good day

QeeGood: Nicely written. I like this portion "I have a humbled compassionate heart and soul for all living in the world." What is required is one has to be happy and if we are happy that is enough.

Hello Ravi sir ....i am here i am here!!! i have attended a few classes of Art of Living but not as many as i would like to!....i visited the ashram in Kanakapura Road, Bangalore, but long back but unfortunately i have not found time to take up the courses offered...though i follow and listen to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar but somehow Jagii Vasudev is more of my guru...maybe because my mom is such an ardent follower of his and i am used to hearing his discourses at home most of the time!

Well, I think you are doing interesting things like as kriya. Congrats! I already know what kriya means. I didn't hear the word before. But I see it is a kind of yoga. Actually I also do yoga sometimes, but only simple asanas. I do what my body is able to do. I find yoga is a great exercise for body and spirit. Why do you skip doing kriya?

Rick: Thanks for the response. In kriya we concentrate on breathing exercises and it rejuvenates mental energy.

There are days when I do what I'm supposed to do and I still don't feel good. No matter what a person does, there will be some days that are just not as good as others. It's good to do what is good for you in spite of how you feel. I made sure that I journaled everyday and I was so caught up in journaling that I forgot to smell the roses. It is like I was obsessed. I still journal but, I've started adding other things to my life. Life happens...inside and out. The best thing for me to do is to keep living it.
