The List?

I keep seeing this movie ad for The List. A working mother makes a list of what she must do the next day as she is in bed at 3am! I thought Really?! I know I never wanted to marry nor have kids because it wasn't fair to the guy or to my future children but now I can add because I need my sleep. I don't care how busy the next day will be , I am not going to sit up at 3am making a list! So I have to ask, do you make a list for the next day As you lie awake in bed?

I saw that commercial for that stupid movie. It's not called the list, it's called something like, "how does she do it all" or something like that. And Sarah Jessica Parker is in it. I think she looks like Ruth Buzzie. I never found her attractive, maybe it's me. I think I have better taste. It looks like a stupid movie and I will not be sing it.

Yes she is, for now. Remember, she will be getting older and if you look closely, you can see some similarities. I still think the movie is going to be stupid.

That is called planning for the next day. I do plan what needs to be done and what for are those magnets on the fridge door but to stick up that list! I love my sleep and I would never trade it even to make a list but I do make plans at a time I am more relaxed. Also as and when something strikes me during the day I add that to the list.If I need to buy something to replenish items in the kitchen that also goes to that list. Making a list is the best way to live sara whether married or not!

Making a list at the ghastly hour of 3 ridiculous to say the least. I am fully with you on this!

I make mental notes.....what I want to finish or work on.....but not actual lists....the only lists I make are for when I go to the grocery store....if I don't I would forget where I parked car! LOL

Well, I don't have kids yet. However, I think it's safe to say that I wouldn't be up at 3 a.m. making any lists. I may be up at 5 a.m., though, feeding my feline masters. I stay up late and wake up early. I don't generally seem to need a lot of sleep. However, those late night hours would be mine unless there was a sick two-legged or four-legged child in need of attention.

I was born at 1:20am and I have been a night owl ever since! I have to write down things so I can remember but I would Never , Ever lie awake in bed making a list! Maybe you can ask your feline friends if you can feed them at 7am.

Hello sarahruthbeth22, its really nice to meet you again. Thank you for telling me about this new movie. I am going to watch it soon. I make a list before going to bed because it makes me feel motivated to start a new day. There is something I can look forward to. There is something that motivates me to get out of the bed. I am a housewife but working mothers impress me alot. They try their best to juggle their work life and home life. The best thing is that they are making money and they don't have to ask for money from others. They can spend lavishly and follow their dreams too. But they work hard. According to a resarch study 9 out of 10 working women want to quit their jobs to become a houswewife.

I make lists infrequently, but I never leook at them. A lot of good that does. I someone sits up in bed at 3 am making a list, there has got to be a reason for it. I work nights so on my days off I try to get as much sleep as I can. What is this movie REALLY about?

From the trailer It is about a working married mother being so busy trying to do Everything that she isn't living. It is a comedy I assume.

It is crazy to make such a list:) My life is already very routine. Every morning I will wake up to make the breakfast. After that, I will bring my child to school and I will go to work after that. And when I go off work, usually I will just go home directly or buy something on my way home. It will not spend me long time since I have to check my child's homework when I am home. And after dinner, I will do some housework and spend some time with my child and it is the time for him to go to sleep. It will be my spare time when my child goes to sleep. So making such a list is not necessary for me. I love China

This is a reflection of the personality of the individual rather than the fact that she's a wife or a mother, so I think you can rest assured that there isn't a whole army of working mothers doing the same. Yes, mothers are busy as they have a whole host of things to think of which non parents don't, but we're not all list bound. Staying up till 3am making a list seems rather counterproductive as the list writer wil be too knackered next day to actually action any of it!

In my mind maybe..children do tend to make one lose sleep sometimes...I know mine have on occasion...especially that boy of mine.

I make a list somedays on what I want to do the next day. I never have laid in bed thinking about what I need to do! It sounds like some people don't know how to budget their time! So they make a list. No one should be up until 3 am doing that! that is nuts! I need my sleep, too!

I guess that's why I feel so tired all the time. And why at the end of the day, when I lean my back on something soft, I would soon be fast asleep. I make list, but not at 3 in the morning.

I have my agenda ,where I put in meetings, events, other important appointments etc. as they all come one thing after another. I have regular bed routines, when to go to bed as to get up in the morning. The only time I make a list in advance is for planning my expenses going to the grocery store.

If I have a lot of things to do the next day, I make a mental list of what i am supposed to accomplish. That way I can plan ahead and be sure to accomplish it all within my time frame. I think it is not a bad habit to do a list of things to do. I think it is wise being able to track what you have to do and if you have accomplished them. Good Day!!!

Making the list is a great idea, but in bed? Why?

I'm lucky if I'm in bed by 3 instead of on the computer. I'm not consistent about making lists, but sometimes I add to the one in my calendar program if there are things I absolutely have to do. I don't always remember to check the list, but at least I know it's there. I also keep a written list around somewhere that I will add to in the middle of the night if I remember something really important that I must not forget and I won't fall asleep if I'm worried I'll forget it, like paying a credit card bill that has to be paid the next day or some such thing. Then I put it on top of my keyboard.
