Philippines

Hi friends and mylotters! I logged in to my fb account and one of my friends who happens to be a mylotter too, shared a news about this huge crocodile found in our country. Take a look at the photo I atteched here you'll be amazed! The crocodile had been a threat to the village since a fisherman was lost and some villagers witnessed that this crocodile attacked a water buffalo. Good thing it was caught already and now will be put into a zoo. I wish to see it in person, lol! Do you have any incidents like this in your country?

That crocodile had become a legend in my country. Many had tried to catch it but not easy because this crocodile is tricky. Only in the year 1992, it was finally being caught. Now the skeleton is being displayed in one of my country's local museum. Many had fall prey as a victims to this crocodile, that's it had been a local legend. That's why, whenever there are flood in certain states in my country, people scare goes near the river, for fear of meeting the crocodile face to face.

Hello mtrguanlao, Not really that big compare to other countries but it's rare that we see large crocodiles like that. it's really hard to believe that in the interview of GMA there wasn't a reported incident of people gotten killed? or did I just missed a news on that. this is a dangerous one and can eat and swallow any Filipino as a whole.

Hi Letran! Thank you for the link you provided up there,I watched it and was amazed! The news on GMA is somewhat not reliable 'cause I've searched over the internet about this crocodile for me to make an article out of it and turned out that all the articles I've read are with the same infromations. It was stated in GMA news that it weighs 600kilograms but all of the news in the internet stated that it weighs 1,075 kilos. GMA should be accurate on their reports.

Wow! That is a monster, all right. I'm sure I have read of similar incidents here, but I can't remember them. What is fresh in my mind tonight is that a man was arrested for biting another man's pet python. Can you believe that? They don't know why the man bit the snake, but the snake had to have surgery to recover. It's amazing what some people will do.

Oh my,that's kinda funny to me,lol! What's on that man's mind?! Or is he drunk, haha! Now it's the other way aroud..the human was the one who attacked a python, what a news! Do you have a picture of the python friend? Wish to see it here, hehe!

Sorry, they didn't include a picture of either man or snake, but the word "drunk" did appear in the write-up -- but only as a guess, not a fact.

Hi mtr, I worried about the disappeared fisherman. Finally it caught and it is really a great relief to the people who scared by the same. There were news about wild elephants who came from the forests killed many people in south part of India. I also heard news about Leopard attacked people and pet animals in some places. I think all happened due to deforestation, people are destroying the forests for their selfishness and wild animals can’t live peaceful life in their respective places so they are forced to come out and attack people.

You son is right, it is really big one and nobody can escape if it gone mad. In Kerala many incidents happened, elephant killed people (who are taking care of the elephant, in case of pet elephants)

Hi my two dear friends! Sorry for my delayed reply. My son said the most dangerous animal is the elephant,he had known it in discovery or animal planet on tv(having some memory gap here, lol)And I asked him,how come elephants are dangerous son,he said, nobody can escape its weight and attacks, for sure a man will die. Hearing your stories,it's really alarming! But since you said the forest was destroyed, that could be the cause of their appearances and attacks,I guess mankind has an account for it. Can't blame the animals.

Hi there! Yea, it was reported in my country's newspaper too! I was shocked to see such a gigantic crocodile and it's the first time that I see it! Wow such a giant, it's no wonder it can eat up anything! Of course I pity the fisherman, who was a star in the ecotourism industry right? But this giant, it's a menace to humans, especially kids. Wish they could put it into a zoo.

hi mtr, Well Agusan Marsh is one natural habitat for them As time pass people are claiming this natural habitat of them But of course we both can't blame them they just want to live It sad that it comes to the point this animals need to kill to survive and people need to kill them to be safe happy mylotting

Hi friend! I understand what you are trying to say 'cause that's also what I have in mind. I am somehow happy that the hunters captured "lolong" alive. I know crocodiles eat humans and animals to survive,we just have to be responsible for our safety that's why I also understand why they have to put "lolong" in a zoo. Goodnight my friend!

Yeah I heard the news about that. The people were hunting the huge reptile for 3 weeks. It's 21 feet long and weighting 600kg (1320 lbs) probably the world's largest crocodile caught alive! It's currently a tourist attraction in Butuan.

I believe the news you've heard was on GMA news, right? Yes,the news on GMA was not accurate. I made an article of this crocodile captured alive and all the articles I've read have one thing in common regarding the exact weight of the crocodile and it turned out to be 2,370pounds.

Hi! I've seen this in yahoo news! My golly, it was really big! Twenty feet! Four times my height and 22 times my weight! That's really scary. And it said in the news that it had ate a child before. I can imagine how the villagers lived in fear because of this killer croc. And I can also imagine their happiness when it was caught. That crocodile can even eat me! I can fit perfectly in its mouth! It was good thing that it was caught. But they said there are other killer crocodiles there. I wouldn't want to live in that kind of place. The news also said that the crocodile will become the new "star" of a planned eco-park. Even if the crocodile is dangerous, I hope when they put it in a cage or something, they will imitate exactly the habitat of the crocodile and not just put it in a steel cage or something.

Hi secretbear! I think the news you have read is somewhat wrong from the information that it had eaten a child. There was an incident that a crocodile ate a child but it was not the same crocodile caught just recently. It's from other place in Philippines. It really is scary so people should be very careful not to go near the creek. I saw on news just tonight that they made a little pond for the crocodile as its temporary habitat.

Yes totallyundecided, crocodile farm experts said that this crocodile is so far the largest one captured alive here in our country. Crocodiles are really wild in nature, people should be the one careful for them. I hope this crocodile wont harm anybody else.

Hi Mtr When you visit the croc... just be sure that you dont feed it... The only incident I remember is when I was at the Military Academy training them on Computers, that the village by the sea had one shark about 12 feet that somehow got into the local sea. The people killed it and it was sold out in the market. The Army came to know about it the next day and they went out to give a training to the people so that they will not kill such things the next time and inform the army who would take care and ensure the animals are sent back to where they came from.

Hi dear Sids! Happy to see you here in my discussion buddy! Haha, feeding it is one thing I would really love to do Sids, exciting! Wow,a shark about 12 feet, that's big already! But why did the people killed it? I know these animals attacked because that's really how they live, wild in nature. Good thing they were told not to mkill those animals again.

Hello my dear sweet friend! We have had incidents such as these where a giant bear has attacked and bitten the trainer. I have heard of a crocodile being captured in someone home one time but luckily no one was hurt. I also recall an Ape attacking a child at the zoo too. There have been incidents and each time it is far more scarier. It never gets easier to hear about them because of the harm they have caused.

i dont think they should have caught the crocodile. even crocodiles are Gods creatures. He created them and put them on this earth for a reason. that crocodile has just as much a right to be on this planet as any human does. i dont like how the animals were her first and humans just came in and took over. putting the animal in a zoo is wrong also just because the animal is so large. it is nice to look at and marvel at but if thats the case why dont we put any extra ordinarly large person in a zoo to marvel at too?

Hi cowgirl! You have a point there, We know animals like this are wild in nature and that's how they live and survive, They look at us as food or prey. I can't also blame the victims of this animal as they lost one of their loved ones. I do respect animals and I'm really fascinated with them but I also respect humans who are angry because of their loss. Putting the crocodile to the zoo is I guess the best way for the town people since the crocodile is already a threat to them. But I know that's not the real habitat of the animal. The animal will be taken care of still.
