Have you watched a movie called An American Haunting? It is a horror movie, and it claims that it is based on the truth. I just watched this movie and I think the ending may not be true. Perhaps the director added this ending. I want to know more about this case and I don't understand why it would happen to this family.

rafiholmes, how you doing?. Amityville was the biggest Hoax going! I read the novel when I was younger and it scared the crap out of me and how silly did I feel when I found out it was a big lie lol
Have not seen the others but The Fourth Kind is a Blair With Deal as far as I know. I have it on DVD but have not got around to watching it.

Hi youless!
I've watched this movie a long time ago! It was really creepy at some parts and I never imagined that the reason for the haunting was the father himself. I'm not sure about the extent of how much it was based on a true story. I did not research about the movie and I just read some things about it which I have forgotten already. I'm sorry I can't help you here.

many people believe that the bell witch spirit is still in Adams,Tennessee,in the cave that is located on what used to be the the bell family property during research an d making of this movie they herd several fascinating stories of peoples encounters with the spirits as having a few on there own hence getting the stories to succeed the project,,, i actually have never watched the movie but the truth about the location keep rotating

I haven't seen the movie yet since I'm really scared watching horror movies . I've watched The Rite though which is a horror film about exorcism. It is said that it is also based from a true story. I guess there are just additional concepts that was added by the writers to make it more exciting.

I have seen this movie. It is based on an actual legend, whether that is true or not is another thing entirely. The ending in the movie was changed from the original legend. In the legend Katey Batts, or however you spell it, is still believed to be the poltergeist or whatever she was. The director set up the ending to make it seem more like it was all in the family minds I think. The movie was actually ridiculed for it being such a departure from the legend and changing itself to appear as if the wife was agreeing with it the whole time.
