These days the news about domestic violence event of Liyang, the CEO of crazy English, to be the top news here. Several days earlier, Kim reported that she had met with domestic violence, and put up several photos about her condition of an injury through microblog. And she said that she will devorce Liyang. The photos tell us the severe of injury she has met, and I think she should apart with that man as soon as possible. After reading the new, I have used engines to search more news about domestic violence event in China, and the search results tell me that the domestic violence existed in 30% of families in China. And we do not have any law to protect people from domestic violence. Even call the police, they will not help you in that case. And several months ago, a woman was beaten to death by her husband, while her husband was sentenced only 6 years in jail. I think it is a trash to treat his/her family members by violence. And we should do something to protect ourselves from domestic violence in China.

Are there any women's rights groups in China? Are there any groups that protect the rights of children in China? I believe there are authorities that handle domestic violence in China, right?

There is only one official women's rights group in China, and it does not work. Though there are laws to avoid domestic violence, but few of them can work well. In many cases, the women who were abused by their husband called the police. But the police do not want to help them, for they think it is a family business and they can not protect the women all the time. And if you want to divorce in that case, it is rally hard for women to have enough evidents for the domestic violence.

Why isn't it working? Internal politics? Lack of government support? Lack of funds? Or what? Why aren't the laws effective? If all the women (or at least the educated women) in China could come together to lobby for their rights, I think things might not have been so bad. I don't see why women in China don't have enough evidence. Surely there would be some kind of injury to prove that, isn't it? If you are referring to psychological abuse, then it's a different matter altogether. I think sth has to be done for women (and children)in your country, since they are more vulnerable.

Unfortunatly it isnt just in China. domestic violence is everywhere around the world and yes, we do need to put and end to it. At this stage of the world we shouldnt even be having this type of violence. Back then they would miss treat woman because they had the power. I guess now they just want to earn power back and it is just plain stupid.

You can never really tell who is going to come out or become a person the abuses violently their own family. It could be a person you least expect due to some big change in their life. Their are many factors into why someong would start doing this. Going to those whohad the same life, having big changes in their life, stress, and many many other factors. None are excuses but it does happen to people like these. I have never seen someone say that they abused they family because they wanted to and have no kind of mental or emotional problems.

Domestic violence existed everywhere in the world, and we should treat other members with respect at some point. I don't know if we should interfere with other people's business at all, but with serious violence which might cause fatality, that we have to do something about it. Why can't we solve a problem with peaceful solution instead of use violence?
