its now almost one month now since i have been actively participating in discussions here in mylot and so far i have only earned $0.51:( to be honest i am extremely frustrated with my earnings. how long will it take me to earn the minimum payout amount? how many more discussions will i have to start and join to earn it? i think i'm running out of things to say:( i am not inspired anymore to start or join any discussion here.

I am a little concerned too. Not so much about the earnings as about the idea that this discussion might be deleted. Why is talking about earning a don't or is there another reason for deletion? This is something that will drive me away unless of course there is a good reason for deletion of posts. I can not write if edited or moderated excessively unless I understand and just not go there (some topics I guess). As far as earnings (not the writing parts)that give us dollar amounts goes, I would like to encourage everyone to continue to find ways to increase the little number beside your name because I can tell you that I've posted else where on a message board (will not give the name)that gives far less. So to get an opportunity to post and make anything is a plus really. Honestly, it is something to earn a little than nothing at all. On the other hand perhaps there needs to be reasons for writing other than making the money that inspire us. Hope that helps!

@ blue, one major taboo here is talking about earnings, especially when stating how much specifically you have earned, this is because the algorithm that is used is a secret. This is stated in the guidelines, discussions that discuss specifics are deleted. If you haven't already done so read the guidelines and FAQ's they will give you much info on what is and isn't allowed. Our stars are also factored into our earnings so without a star your probably not earning as much as you could, so respond to discussions to earn your star. Your number also does not go up as fast when responding in your own discussions, you only move up 2, however you earn for responding in your discussions. So my advise to both of you, is that you still have a ways to go. Many mylotters make payout each month, you just need to be very active, and your numbers make it appear that your not as active as you think. To get a star you have to have a user rating of 100, the higher the star the higher you will earn. You will not get rich here. If your looking to have fun and earn then this us the place to be. I have been here for quite a few years and am active at times. I enjoy the site, but the earnings are unimportant to me. Hope this info helps some.

its frustrating watching the little number beside my name not moving at all. i rake my brain for ideas on what to comment or what discussion to start and i get very little compensation for my effort... its very frustrating.

It is kind of hard to earn payout but if you really like the site it is worth a try. Just add discussions but more importantly comment discussions with longer responses so you can will some more. Maybe you have been giving one sentence responses when the best you can do is write 3 or more sentences to actually get some good cash here.

this is why i am so frustrated because i give long comments. i don't just give out one or two sentences but mostly my comments are long paragraphs. its not easy to write all these things.

hi tatzkie... i am very choosy with the discussions i make a comment on its because it's not easy to make a comment on something i don't have any knowledge of. thanks for the advise.

Since you only have 26 posts, it's normal that you're nowhere near payout. myLot is not, in essence, a money-making site - it's a community where the money is a bonus. You'd seriously have to spend a lot of hours on here, posting a lot of content to make payout every month. I make payout most months but I don't start many discussions at all. I find that the best thing to do is to post decent-length responses that are helpful, with quality info. Of course, I'm lucky that I know a little about earning online, so I can usually post great long tracts with tips and ideas in response to people's questions. Post long, helpful responses. Post often. Enjoy myLot instead of looking at the earnings and you'll find they mount up quicker than you'd think!

@ spike, very well said, I couldn't agree more. Have fun posting and don't think about the money and it be an added bonus in the end. Happy mylotting to all.

I like the idea of a community and thinking about the extra as bonus, works for me. The only thing I can really add to this thread is perhaps that the incentive is enough just as long as it is real, which presently I have not one reason to doubt. Since my personal goal is mostly ego building anyway (I have never made a dime directly from any source online )then this opportunity is really going to be a boost for me. My goal is to get to bonus time! I do enjoy posting so if I can make some kind of contribution and in exchange see a bonus, then I will certainly be happy. The other thought that comes to mind is that there may be other ways but if they are not so enjoyable are they suitable for me? So I guess everything is a trade off. I have posted in other places without feeling appreciated and if joining a community works, is enjoyable and has rewards... :-)

If you will not post and participate you will not really earn that much. You should enjoy and treat mylot as your diary or something... Al least share your experiences and knowledge.

I do not intend to demotivate you in any way but it is very well possible to reach the payout: I joined yesterday and I already made $0.62 the first day. It may still not be a lot but if I keep doing so every day I'll be able to cashout pretty soon. In fact I'll try to keep increasing my daily earnings and reach $1.00/day, perhaps even $50/month or $100/month in a while. I do spend a lot of hours on myLot already though, I think I spent like 4-5 hours on myLot already, if not more. I do type pretty fast though and I just search for topics that are of my interest and on which I'd like to share my opinion ( in at least 4 sentences usually ). Your posts/earnings ratio seems alright, like 2cent/post. So just try to keep posting a lot on things you love or are interested/motivated about. Good Luck!

I'm very glad to hear that my response motivated you! myLot is a great place to enjoy and still earn some extra money at. It won't get you rich, certainly not, but earning $1/day is very well possible! You may even earn more as you get the hang of it. Good luck to you!

Try not to focus on earning but instead focus in sharing your thoughts. It will definitely take time to reach the minimum payout here but definitely you will be paid no matter how many months it would take.

Well, if you spend 2 hours of your time in here and do more activities like commenting 50 or more and post 1 discussion a day that must be enough for you to earn some and for sure at the end of the month make around $20 or even more than that if you do more activities... Do not be frustrated because that's feeling too when I started and don't know what to do here. If you follow my suggestion I think you can say thanks at the end of the month

I have had friends that I brought here say the same thing. They thought if they answered just a few that they would make what I do. They finally figured out after looking at my profile that I do alot more than that to earn payout. It takes work to make enough each month or two to get to the payout. Looks like you have been told the same thing from everyone else.. hoping all of that advice is showing up in a better earnings for you now. :)

Why don´t you begin by answering posts instead of starting one? It is a lot easier and if you give a good answer you will be paid as much as if you start a post. Although we don´t know how much we earn for each post, comment, answer or other participation, it is not much more than a cent each. So, to gewt $10, you would have to get involved in more posts. I would recommend you to get into more interests, get some friends so you can follow their posts and comment on them. Luck and welcome!

Check peole who have your interests while answering posts and ask them to be your friends. This helps a lot and after a while some of them will become real friends.

Joining in mylot is both earning and having fun. My mindset right now is not just to earn but also to learn and enjoy by means of participation either by starting a discussion or answering a question or giving out opinions.:)

dude if you are really here for money then you should try others sites because here in mylot you have to be active for long hours sacrificing your personal time for other things .......i would rather suggest you go and try some other mini freelancing sites that would help you get a some good money at the end of the month

hi mashnn!!! yes you are correct i am fairly new here in my lot but i am trying very hard to make the meager number beside my name grow bigger every day by posting a lot of responses to discussions every day. my friend from India inspires me to try hard every day so he wont be able to overtake my number of post....hahahaha...but he's not very far behind me though... because he's very good!!!

Hi I am new here and in 1 week of activity I made more than what you declared! I do not understand how this is possible...anyway I saw that you have a score of 278 which is a lot higher than mine...so I do not get it! If I compare Mylot wiith other systems i find Mylot preatty good.

good for you... but what you failed to notice is that i started this discussion 5 months ago that is why i have a higher number of discussions answered than you do but when i started this discussion i only had 26 ...so that's the reason for the big disappointment then but now 'm starting to enjoy it here in my lot!

That is unbelivable.. You made only $0.51 in a month... If you have been active for this long, then your earnings should have been more than that... I think, you were not active enough. Make sure you write quality data and enough of it.. Avoid the one liner posts at all costs because they don't receive a lot of credit or attention.... Take care...

Really it depend in quality of discussion and comments! By earning higher reputation "star" can boost your earning (see following) http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx Be sure to considering rating other people comment as in "Golden Rule"

I think it's really weird that you only won $0.51 cents if you have been participating actively, because this is the amount that I won in a day that I really participate here in myLot. Maybe you should give a look to the others ways that you can win money here in myLot and also check if you can improve your answers.

Why are you frustrated? You haven't done anything yet. You only have 26 by your name, so you haven't done hardly anything to get paid. For 26 points you did GOOD to make 51 cents. You have to type in order to get paid.. you don't get paid for what other people do on your posts.. you must interact. If I can make payout every month or every other month then you could too if you put some effort in it. I work nearly full time in an at home business, and I still find time to spend a few hours here.

The only way you will really earn is if you refer a lot of people to come and use the site, you earn off of them. The more people you refer the more money you get.

i have noticed that not all rate the comments made on discussions so i think that even if i strictly follow that rule on rating responses on the discussions i have started its not an assurance that the responses i make will be rated in return. so what i do is i just submit responses to discussions as much as i possibly can and not think of the ratings at all so i wont get frustrated.
