This is too cool not to share. Check out this crazy video and let me know what you think. Pretty good music with it too. http://www.flixxy.com/danny-macaskill-industrial-revolutions-street-trials.htm If it was not 8.30pm and dark, I just might get my mountain bike out and try some of this stuff. I am inspired! So, can any of you guys out there actually do any of this stuff? I think that I could do some of it with a bit of practice!

Oh my God, that's the same colour as my bike that I sold recently. Not quite tangerine but near enough! Also, mine had a saddle lol. I NEVER got to do those sort of bike skills on mine although I did ride it at speed..er..downhill. Haha! Have you seen those ace tyres on his bike? Wow! They're whatyermightcall TOUGH! Why can't something like this be at the Olympics? Have an Extreme Obstacle Course in the middle of the Olympic Stadium and whoever gets round in the quickest time wins the gold. Bit like Showjumping but without the horses. By the way, is the guy in question a Brit? Oh, I do hope so!

He is a Brit. Scottish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_MacAskill He also has this equally impressive video which features the music of an Aussie group, The Jezabels. In this one he travels to his hometown from Edinburgh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj6ho1-G6tw My bike is flouro orange too but fades into brown. They have that sort of thing at the Extreme Games, but not the Olympics. Maybe in future it will be. Definitely more skilful that that boring Equestrian garbage!

Mo Farrah didn't half cheer me up the other day, though. I find running like that so inspiring but not enough to try it myself lol. Yes, the bikers are quite welcome here my Aussie friends. They can ride over the rooftops and do allsorts of whacky things..fine by me..oh, and I can cook for them all too. Bit of a squeeze in this house though but I'm sure I'll think of something! Couldn't resist a video of Mo. What a guy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6s9BmocEko By the way, Channel 4 had the worst coverage EVER for the World Champs but as John said, "anything's better than that idiot Brendan Foster on the BBC!" Hahaha!

Good suggestion about it becoming a new olympic event! You can organize it for the London 2012 Olympics! If they won't allow it, then we'll have it at Janey's place & it'll be so popular that they'll just have to make it an Olympic event!

Boy does he have the moves! Keep an eye on this one... he's going far... if he can keep from getting himself hurt bad! Goodness! He can't even walk that rope, but he can ride it! The kid was born with wheels on! Trains & tracks, eh? Vertical up walls! Strewth!!! Bill - this was bad timing for me. I have command over five computers here & none of them have audio! I'm going to have to try the library with headphones on! Don't do it! You must be crazy! Just get me high enough on coconut oil & I'll join you! I'll build the Bedini Electric Bike first & race you on that! Boys will be boys!

I reckon the tightrope bit was probably the most amazing! How on earth he managed to do that I just don't know! I reckon I could do the vertical wall thing with some practice. I used to do that on a skateboard pretty well....but that was 23 years ago! I don't think my bike (and me) would handle those huge drops, but I guess it all comes down to practice and landing the right way. I crashed my bike off a jump last week and nearly hit a tree with my head. Was going a little fast around the corner of the trail and did not get upright properly before the jump! Yes, you need audio! I loved the song. Might have to go back and watch it again and grab the artist's name.

Still trying the libraries... nope! To be honest, I have seen something similar that was done in the USA. Of course it was done in their "urban jungle", building jumping, down flights of stairs, that sort of thing, but it's good to see it being done here. That place looks outwardly to be one of the most boring old dumps in the world, but it's amazing how this guy transforms it into his own little playground. My, how we love to amuse ourselves!

He has heaps of similar videos. Just search YouTube for Danny Macaskill. He is Scottish so they are all in the UK from what I have seen. He has an urban jungle one in the streets of London.

Wow, this guy is good! It appears as though the bike is definitely a part of him and that he literally can go anywhere with it! He did some amazing stunts; the tight rope riding had me very nervous! I was impressed and I have an idea that we may see more of this guy. I was fascinated and highly entertained but not motivated enough to get my rusting bike out of the shed!

He is incredible isn't he. He has been around quite a while and is pretty well known in his industry. He has quite a few more videos on Youtube. Oh come on Paula. You can do it! You might even create a 'Funniest Home Video' moment that wins you an awesome prize!

I was a BMXer in my youth but a quarter pipe maybe a half pipe was all we had, these guys are just insane nowadays, makes me feel old But respect to themBill that kind of stuff would take a lot of practice!

I was into BMXing too and skateboarding in the 80's. What we were into then was pretty cool, but compared to what guys do these days, it was pretty basic! I was into half pipes and lots of street obstacles before they outlawed that kind of behaviour. But the skate parks that they build now for the youth are incredible compared to what we had. Too right, that kind of stuff would take loads of practice. What we do not see on the film is the hours that went into practising each stunt and the exercise regime that the guy would have to maintain to keep fit and flexible.

All the new skate parks are made of concrete ouch We would not stand a chance lol

I know! I bought a skateboard last year so that I could skate with my son, but I am too scared to do much with all that concrete! We had wood and steel ramps in my day, but I did used to street skate on concrete obstacles regularly.

He is an amazingly talented guy. He must practice those for hours before getting them perfect on film though. He has a few other videos on YouTube. Just search Danny Macaskill on there. I myself am pretty good on a bike, but I am nothing like him!

Maybe Ann. I am thinking of getting a small camera that can be mounted to helmets for riding downhill trails.

I'd need to see it to believe it, I mean in real. Man, that guy is crazy!! You say you can do some of that stuff, too? OMG, just be careful lol I think the most dangerous scene is where he jumps on the roofless framework of the wagon. If one of those rods was rusted through that might brake some bones... anyway, great video, thx for sharing :-) Cheers

I have seen people doing this type of stunt riding in real life and they were pretty impressive but not quite as amazing as this guy. I could do some of the basic moves with a bit of practice I am sure. I do a bit of riding, but not like that! I think I could do the wall riding if I built a dirt ramp like he did. I used to ride walls on by skateboard and bike when I was a teenager....it was only 23 years ago. How hard could it be now? I am pretty sure that they would have spent days rehearsing and checking out every stunt just to make sure that everything was safe and structurally sound before attempting it for real.

Yes, many injuries over the years has caused me to go a little easier than I used to. I bought a skateboard a year or so ago and have been to skate parks with my son, but there is no way that I am willing to do the same stuff tat I did back then! Hmmm, yes. Protection over that vital area might be wise!

...it might be a bit harder now Bill. 23 years ago your bones were still fresh :D Maybe the most important thing for being able to make such stunts is to lose fear (if present at all). As a youngster I used to make handstand with rollover from a diving platform. Somehow a fear developped later on and I couldn't do it anymore. I'm also not free from giddiness, it's a really awkward feeling - you simply can't move anymore at a certain point although you could if you hadn't fear. yeah, that's very wise to check the course. It's also good he wears a safety helmet. Maybe he should also consider ellbow knee and balls protection?

A real daredevil stunt! Not for children to see as they will go for it and try that out.

I have showed my children, but it is me, the "big kid" that would probably try them before they would!
