I'm the front desk officer of our company, and one of my task is being the telephone operator. I received majority of calls for the employees everyday and I would like to share my experience with Telecollector Agents. Many of my office mates are using credit cards and some of them failed to pay there balance and the interest goes higher until they cannot pay it anymore. So, they are always hiding from the Telecollector that always called them to ask them to bay there balances. These employees asked me not to direct the calls to them because it affects there work. As the one who is responsible in handling calls, I always told the agents that the said employees are on leave, no longer connected with the company or the line was busy just to keep them away. I now received threats and harsh words from the telecollectors, they would tell me that I am a dog, that the company hires stupid people, that they wish the company will get bankruptcy, that we all die as soon as possible, that they will go to our office to make a scandal. I sometimes cannot believe that they could tell such crazy word knowing that they are also working in a corporate set up. Have you experienced this kind of harassment?

I have also answered same kind of calls for my coworker. I observe too that most of these agents are so rude. There was one time that my office mate went out and the call came and when I told the agent that she was out, he started talking about the credit and stuff and I just cut him off. I told him what he is doing is so unethical, that that concern is something personal and he should practice decency and told him to call back and I put down the phone. :))

You can't blame those collectors, they are paid for doing just that. I heard that these collectors are in no way connected with the banks instead they're collecting agents that earns when they get the employees to pay. I had an a colleague who claims that they use to make their own letter and make it appear that it comes from a law office just to scare the debtors.

once a long time back when my kids were little my hubby and
I decided to buy a quarter of a beef cut up for our freezer
in storage.but when we paid the monthly fee we got a bill
collector came to our door wanting the second payment in
advance. I told him when it came the twentieth of the month'
we wou ld send in our payment but he insisted he must have-it this very day after my telling him four times, we did not have that much money of hand til we got our paychecks he was going to force his way into my living room and shake me. startled, I shut and locked the door. With him yelling threats at me, I called the police and let them hear what this man was yelling at me. Ten minutes later the police came, saw him attempting to pry open my door and he was arrested on the spot, in that city harrassing clients by bill
collectors was a criminal offense so that guy went to jail.We also sued them for not giving us the true poundage for a quarter of a beef. we won as they had cheated us out of forty pounds of beef and charged us for it , and been paid for it. the company had to return fifty dollars to us for beef we were not given.
