Last night my bf called me after and he told me that he got a freaking missed call that last for almost 2-3 seconds. The number that register in his call log was actually his own mobile no. He's kinda scared but I just told him that his phone provider might having network problem thus instead of the real no. appear in his call log, his number appeared. It happens to me in a text message when about 7 years ago he and my sister were continuously texting me. What happen was their text were mixed up so instead of my sister's number appear in a text message, he's number appeared. So I study the situation and that's what I came up, service provider network problem.
How bout you? Did you have the same freaky experiences?

this is definetly a network problem or a service provider problem.i face this problem many times and even faced similar problems.one time i was calling my dad and i was sure of the number and i found that someone else replied to me and he even told me that this number is wih him from years.this really happened with me many times,so relax,it is just a network problem!

Don't worry we are relaxed to that. I think the party line thing is pretty active nowadays. There are calls I and he did that different person answer but number is correct.

There are actually some aps that you can get on the android phones where you can call someone with whatever you number you want. I once called my boyfriend with the ap with his number to freak him out.

Hi anie,
I have some weird experiences too. Yes, you are right it is due to the network and sometimes because of traffic. With my SUN cell sim, I was then talking with a friend over the phone, until the conversation suddenly went lost or had a pause, but I was talking and saying "hello" to check if my friend was still on the other line. I was shocked when the other line wasn't my friend instead another person in a different dialect. It din't happen only once.
Another was a text message, I sent a message to a friend and she replied to me using her number, but the number appearing on the sender is different. Since, I thought she may be using her sister's number, I asked her if she had no load on her number that's why she is using another. I was surprised when she told me that she never used any number. But when I replied to the different number, I was shocked when the recipient told me "Who you". What the heck! At that instance, I thought my friend is making a fun of me, so I called the number. Darn! The recipient is in a different location and in another dialect. Whew! And I was sure that wasn't really my friend because I know she was with and doesn't know any other dialect.

I don't how to call that situation, it's insane. A few weeks ago, after I open the office with my officemates about 3-5 mins. after, a girl called in our landline and she insist that someone miscalled her (maybe he's mobile phone) using our office number. I told her that no one use the phone in my table cause we open the office about 3-5 mins. ago. She even confirm the number and surprisingly that was our office number. Until she just hang up cause there is nothing to say, just two thing I suspect, it might be a phone glitch or there is a ghost in our office.

Hi, laniekins. Oh, that does sound really freaky! I have a new cell phone that I have had for over a month now. This cell phone lights up on its own. When I am not using it, the phone lights up as if I have pressed a button or touched it somehow. It really creeps me out. Usually the only time that my cell phone lights up like this is when someone is about to call me, before my phone actually rings. Or if I happen to be touching the buttons to navigate any of my cell phone features. I hope that it is a service network provider issue and nothing more that is going on with your boyfriend's cell phone. It is probably best that he contact his cell phone carrier about this issue that he is having.

Hello cream,
Did you bring your phone for check-up? My previous phone is like that too! It light and we thought there is a text message but there is none. It might need a check even if it's new. The freaky missed call only happen to him once so I think we need not call the service provider for that. If it happens thrice or more then that's the time we will report it.

I never experienced a call or a text message like that. I haven't heard any of my friends encountered that one before. I worked before in a telecommunication company for almost 2 years and I haven't encountered that. I'm not really sure the reason why, probably a system glitch. But I will be a bit scared if it happens to me.

I think, some service providers offer a call back service. Means, if you forget your mobile number, you can call their service from your mobile. Within few seconds you will receive a call, which will show your mobile number. This facility is provided to be used in case if we forget our own number. May be your friend used that service and playing a trick on you.

No, he don't know that trick and I know if he's bluffing or not. He's number is stored on his phonebook so there's no way he will forgot it.

Earlier I had a question like this, but never experienced before. In fact just for a fun I though of this way that, how I get a missed call number from myown number and to check for the same, I dialed my own number, but as you know, my mobile react as it is engaged. As our friend mentioned, sometime the intelligence may be checking or it can be an error from the part of service provider or for a better understanding we need to check with the service provider for the possibility of such an incident. If at all happening what all situations such a miss call would come up to a mobile number.
Thank-s
