Red John vs. Jack of All Trades

All those of you watching crime shows surely must remember "Profiler" and the famous bad guy from the show, Jack of All Trades. I find that character very similar to Red John from Mentalist and, in a way, both Sam and Patrick share certain similarities. Which one of the criminals above you think is more vicious and more skilled? If they were to share a common world in a show, would they be competitors or form a weird type of alliance and most of all, which one would get caught first?
