The words 'witch'and 'witchcraft'sends fear in many of us.This occult,if i may call it science has been in use since hundreds of years.People believe in witchcraft to get things done.Mostly people approach them to come out of a bad time.In India these evil practices are carried out mostly in villages.I do not know if it really works.A black cat crossing the path is considered a bad omen in many countries.I am told back cats were sacrificed by practitioners of witch craft to wad off bad times.Share your opinions and experiences

its not a witch or witchcraft, but its a cannibalism... and no such other powers that exist here on earth except for God only..... no one ever defies the law of nature... not even witch... Lord Jesus Christ never mention any witch or the like.... even the holy bible itself never mention any witches and warlocks.... therefore, WITCHES ARE NOT TRUE... Even Science doesn't believe in the existence of these paranormal creatures likes witches.... what Science only believe is the existence of an Aliens, life that exist not found on our planet.... therefore, WITCHES ARE NOT TRUE... Even in the court of law, you cannot use the influence of a witches to be a witness or force criminals to enter jail because he's a witch and he killed his prey by biting it with fangs and fly high across the sky using broomsticks as improvised airplanes... the jury, judge, lawyer will only rolling on the floor, laughing out loud... therefore, WITCHES ARE NOT TRUE...

the words don't make me afraid. nor do I associate them promarily with anything negative. Witchcraft has been a way of life for several generations of my family. through my mum her mum her mum and dad his mum. at least. those are the people who within living memory of this family would consider themselves to be Witches. the word "occult" simply means "hidden" so there are no negative connotations for the word Witchcraft or Occult for me. most cultures have some form of indigenous folk magic. and because peoples needs are pretty much the same the world over, most workings are for food, shelter, money, employment, love, healing or fertility. for me it is just a way of life, and nothing particularly strange or unusual. certainly nothing sinister.

Most people approach witch doctors with a lot of apprehension .There is a feeling amongst people that most of these practitioners are fake and out to make money by falsely creating fear in their clients

Witchcraft has been used for thousands of years. And our Creator, who wants to protect us, has made his servants to write down warnings that would help us all to avoid being involved with the bad spirits. Here is a warning to God´s people when they were going to enter the land that God was giving them. "9 When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, 11 or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee." Deuteronomy 18 (American Standard Version) You can go to biblegateway.com and see how others have translated it. Maybe you even find your own language there. I went to watchtower.org and made a search with the word "withcraft" and found a lot of interesting articles. I was on the English site, but you can find 419 languages there, and an online Bible too.

The Bible shows that there are wicked spirits, as some of God´s sons chose to rebel against their Father and became evil. But they pretend to be good and helpful and they can decieve us if we are not aware of it. One of my friends was earlier deeply involved with these spirits and yes, she was a witch or shaman. But when she started to study the Bible, she understood that God does not allow us to have anything to do with these wicked spirits. The spirits were very angry when she left them and did not let her sleep. She asked the people who studied the Bible with her what she should do. They advised her to pray to God and use his personal name Jehovah. She did so and the evil spirts left and she could sleep. Then she started to get rid of everything that had to do with shamanism and witchcraft, all books and other things, just like the first Christians did. She got free, and has helped many others to learn about the true God who can protect us from the spirit opponents of God. God will soon take away all the evil spirits when he makes this eart a wonderful paradise.

I'm not 100% sure on things with belife's of witchcraft, I have cast spells before and am waiting for them to come thru. I'm only a human nothing flash, with no special gifts just an interest in doing it. I believe there are higher beings, and even when you talk to people who are psychic. It all goes back to god and those higher beings in their belife's. So they are out there, just how you want to believe in them is up to you.

That is one big warning they usually have is, be careful on using it. Especially if you are wanting pay back for something, as it can back fire and you are the one to suffer instead. If using it you have to think about it carefully, and make sure no others are going to get hurt.

Witch craft is practised in many countries. They are called by different names. Its called 'Mata'in my area and people seek instant remedies. Most of time the doctor fails to meet the expectations of his client. But vulnerable that we are, we keep going to them

@jyuuken Very true. Sick people seek the treatment of the witches or albularyos which their rituals doesn't have any scientific study to prove their rituals can cure. We cannot blame those people since you need to cross 2 mountains before you can reach the city.

Though, the bible didn't mention something about witchcraft, people can't help but believe in this because of what they can actually see as outcomes of what they call "witchcraft". In that case, it's better to prevent ourselves from doing bad things so the thing will not be done to us. How do we do good things? Well, follow the ten commandments of God.

Most of the time when you hear negative stories about "witches" and "witchcraft", its because they were started by "the church" in order to convert the masses, such as was done in the middle ages, when the catholic church adopted many pagan deities as their "saints" as a way to convince the native peoples to become christian. Other times these rumours are started by fundamentalists and fanatics who wish to do harm to another person or group of people, out of spite or unwarranted fear. Nobody can change your opinion or your belief of what such things are, except for you. And I strongly recommend you educate yourself, so that you can be more aware of and accepting to other people's set of beliefs. I sincerely hope that when the truth is shown to you, you will have the wisdom to recognize it. Most witches are responsible, caring people who are concerned about the welfare of their fellow living beings, the environment, and the planet. Most witches are educated in healing arts, and would never harm a living thing, because it goes against their beliefs, except for in self defense. There are even Christian Witches. The religions of the pagan people are no different than any other religions, and should be treated with as much respect as any other.

I don't have much knowledge about witchcraft because in the first place, I'm not interested to know about it as I really don't believe it. However, there are times that I was inclined to believe because of some stories behind it that came from reliable sources. In fact in the barangay next to our barangay, there were people rumored to be members of some kind of occult relating to witchcraft. There was even a man who was shot and was believed to be a member of a cult. It was an addition to the unsolved crimes in our city.

Witchcraft is there in every country. Its believed to provide healing or destructive powers by the Witchdoctors and their patients. In my country its there and I have witnessed some kind of this practices, but its very rare to see the real thing and to know the witches and wizards. In a certain year, there was this guy who had revealing powers to locate and destroy witchcraft- for this I was there to see for myself people currying big snakes and some black small pots with contents inside which he burned in presence of the people.

What a terrible abuse of black cats! No, I don't believe in witchcraft as something evil.. it's just a religious belief and some folks carry it to extremes to abuse animals. I know people who are witches, and it is similar to saying Christian for a member of Christianity and Witch for a member of Wicca.
@Galena (9110)
7 Sep 11
it's not similar at all. Wicca would be more like comparing to a very specific tradition within a religion. Wicca is a modern Pagan initiatory tradition that was founded by Gerald Gardner in the 1950s. not all Witches are Wiccan. in fact, very few are. considering that a Wiccan is someone who has been initiated into a Coven of that tradition that can trace lineage of initiation back to Gardners own Coven. in fact, not only are not all Witches Wiccan, a lot of them aren't Pagan either. Witchcraft is something you do rather than a belief system. it's a way of life. religion is sometimes a part of that way of life, and for some people it isn't. some Witches are Pagan, some follow other religions. some are atheists. I for one, would definitely not be pleased to be considered Wiccan, as their tradition is vastly different to my own.

Generally there are black magic and white magic in witchcrafts. White magic is used to help people like finding someone else or bringing something from air and so ons. Black magic is dangerous and its practised because to take revenge among peoples. As hairs of humans are taken to revenge that human attacked with this black magic. I never seen but i read lot of things about it. Still i wil think whether it may be true.

Yes I do believe in witchcraft and I don't see it as a bad thing or evil practices. If it comes to evil religions harm people way more. Many things witches do/did are now a days still practised, people even made their job out of it and gave it an other name (the healing of herbs is a good example). BTW many religions are exactly doing the same as what witches should do.

there is nothing wrong in believing in what you think is right. But the harm comes when such occult methods are misused to seek revenge and spoil others life.Faithcures half the problem. In fact many people secretly believe in the powers of witchcraft although they are shy to disclose it
