I am so drained at the moment. Haven't slept for a whole day now. But it was a choice I made and I am glad I made it through. You see, lately my timetable has been such a mess. I sleep during the day and at night, I am awake as an owl! It seemed like the only way to fix everything up was to stay awake the whole day today and at night, go to sleep without any trouble :D I am thinking it will work coz I am so drowsy right now and getting a good sleep won't seem to be a problem Anyway have you tried staying awake for 24 hours straight? Any reasons for it?? And how was it?? For me, seriously today was a really long, lazy and a hard day. It took me two large cups of coffee and I think around 3 movies to get through today. Did a lot of Tv watching too haha! So glad it's finally time to sleep :) Nighty nightt everyone

I’ve been awake for 24 hours.. but never on purpose. My friends and I have talked about “pulling an all-nighter” but it usually ended in a sea of bodies dropping at various positions of the room lol! I’ve stayed awake all night due to arguments and insomnia.. and through partying at night but having work the next morning lol!

Wow people like you amaze me, seriously I have a few friends who sometimes party all night and go to work/come to school, with only a few hours of sleep or no sleep at all I really don't know how you guys do that!! I would never be able to do that LOL not that I've tried though hehe! I hope your insomnia is fine now and you get good night's sleep without effort :) Thanks for the response.

Hi thatgirl! Yes many of times I have stayed up for 24 hours and or more. Oh gosh yes I was so tired, drained and sleepy too. I have done so due to work, fun, insomnia and or just because kind of moments like TV shows too. lol Do get some rest and hope this works out for you. It does feel like a never ending day and almost as if one was awake for more then the 24 hours. Once you crash you will crash well.

That is a very long time to be awake for continuously. I have been awake for that length of time before but I am not sure I can do it any more. It needs some really strong will to be able to do that. Hope you get the kind of sleep you want from this long ardours staying awake.

When I was younger there were times that I would stay up all night just to say that I did it. It isn't hard to do that when you live in Fairbanks, Alaska--the land of the midnight sun. I then tried to stay up all day, but I think I lost the battle around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I don't remember what I did to stay awake later in the day.

I think the last time I did this was when I drove from California to Alaska in five days. That was about 3500 miles and I made it to Seattle in 25 hours just stopping for catnaps along the way. That was no fun at all because I couldn't enjoy the scenery, even in Alaska, because I was so tired.

Yes, sometimes because of work or insomnia. Even when I am finished with my work and it's like almost 1 or 2 hours to morning, I won't sleep anymore cause I am afraid that I would not be able to get up then to send my kids to school. So, I'll just find other things to do to keep myself awake. I'll always say to myself that I can catch up on my sleep after sending the kids to school but that always doesn't happen.

Aww you are such a caring mom Mom sacrifice a lot for their kids. I know that seeing my mom. Moms are such wonderful people, don't know if I'll be able to be that good in the future though. It must be one difficult job trying to stay awake, though sleepy, for the kids. God bless you and thanks for the response

Hey there! You better get some sleep or you'll end up using all your adrenaline in there to keep you awake. As for me, I do this often during my college days, especially the thesis and plant design days. We never sleep in a day and end up only napping the next day. But worse is my laptop computer back then. I never shut it down during the course of those times. The time I was napping, my coworkers is using it so it really didn't have any rest. Good thing it didn't fail me.

So were you able to get a good night sleep finally? I can't stay awake for 24 hours! I can stay as late as 1am but after that, I will not be able to fight my sleepiness anymore. My sleeping time is always at 10-11pm and I wake up at 5-6am. If I sleep at 1am, I will wake up at 7am and it doesn't feel good. I'd get so sluggish the whole day and I would feel like I've wasted one important hour in my life. But if there's some fun activities, like night swimming with singing and drinking, I can stay up late like until 2 or 3 am I guess but I wouldn't know what I'm doing during that time then because of drowsiness.

Yes, I have been awake for 2 straight days when travelling. I found that sleepiness came and went and I may have dozed now and again but it was only for around 10 minutes. I think we are capable of going without sleep a lot more than we believe we can. _Derek

Why did you do it, friend? I have done that, when I discover a good movie in the TV at wee hours. But it´s not the best you can do. I also drink too much coffee. Now my doctor learnt about that and decided that I used only decaff. Happy dreams and don´t do it again!

I have stayed awake 24 hours or more years ago. The reasons were very simple, I would go out with my friends and come home and go right to work. Then I would go out again and come home around 11 or 12 at night and go to sleep. It was fun, but I don't know if I could do that now. But, if there was a real need to I guess I would.

Wow and you would go to work without any sleep? That is amazing!! I mean I have some friends who do the same, they party all night and go to work/school the next day without getting any sleep or just a few hours of sleep. I would never be able to do that. Anyway thanks for the share. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Wow 40 hours straight?? That must have been difficult. And the worst of it to feel tired but not be able to go to sleep. Once while travelling, I was so tired and my head hurt so bad but I couldn't go to sleep no matter how hard I tried. It was just so painful Anyway thanks for the share and have a wonderful day

LOL. I do stay up 24 hours sometimes on weekends. I get engrossed in my MMPORGs online and don't want to quit. But I only do this at the beginning of the weekend so I can catch up on sleep during the middle. My longest stretch in my lifetime was like 36 hours. When I used to work for an inventory service, the jobs were done at night. I did a job one night that went into late morning and they already knew there'd be another job that night so I just stayed up and went to that job too. For part of the job I swear I was literally asleep on my feet! I can remember doing one section over and over again cuz I knew I was dozing off and kept feeling like I missed something. Funny thing is, after all the data was compiled - my sections were all perfect - NO mistakes!! LOL!

Wow 36 hours is a lot for me. The 24 hours was hard enough Anyway I am glad your project was perfect though you were tired I remember when I was in hostel for a year, they'd wake us up so darn early in the morning and no one would ever get enough sleep. I used to get so drowsy in the class and everything felt like a dream LOL my notes looked so unreadable LOL good old days!! Anyway thanks for the share and have a wonderful day

When I was younger I would stay awake all day and night. I am no sure why I did it because I love to sleep. I couldn't do it now though. I can hardly get thru the day without a nap let alone stay up all night!

I love sleeping too. But sometimes I spend the whole night staying awake and watching tv shows or reading mangas or something as such. And that is how the sleep pattern gets messed. I am on right track now and hope it stays this way. Thanks a lot for the response and have a good day

I can't stay awake for 24 hours straight though. I have job to consider, and I have to work and make money. Anyway, if I have a long vacation, I would consider not sleep for 24 hours and keep on watching tv or surf the net online. Then I can sleep for 12 hours straight though. No, I can't live in a lifestyle like that.

Hey there, I am a student. And I don't watch 3 movies everyday, that was to keep me awake that day. I planned on staying awake the whole day so as to get a peaceful night's sleep and to sort out my time table. Anyway thanks for the response and have a good day!
