Do you take risks?

I feel that it's okay to go ahead and take a risk. Of course, there's no guarantee that everything will turn out exactly the way you want it to, but there IS a guarantee that it cannot possibly do so if you are afraid to even take the chance. Think about it,

Just think what life would be like if we didn't take risks. I do know one person who wll not take any type of a risk outsde of her every day living. . She seems to be pretty miserable also. I could not live like that. I enjoy trying new things and living a fun lfe.

Always! I honestly believe that everything you do is a risk. Even just stepping outside your door is a risk. You never know if you might trip off or something. That's why it's very important which risks to take and not to take. If you don't take any, I guess you might not really live at all.

Hi Pose: Being honest I must admit that I'm not a really good risk taker. On the opposite I'm very perfectionist and I'd like to have everything planned. I know life is full of risk and there's no way we could find a "risk free" situation but I try my best to control some of the situations in my life.

Hi jillhill, Thanks for responding and we all take risks everyday, some people just don't realize it. It's strange how so many think strictly of business ventures when someone mentions taking a risk, it just goes to show how materialistic we've become. As barehugs pointed out in an earlier response, just getting out of bed every morning is a risk. Blessings.

Some times we do have to take the risk. Yet, I would say, one needs to weigh the pros and cons very thoroughly before going ahead. That is to say, calculated risk rather than just totally blind risk. Take the risk if the chances of success is more than chances of failure.

Hi greenline, Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. There are many different kinds of risks and of course we take some risks every day. I agree with you that we should not take a major risk without giving it a lot of thought and weighing all the pros and cons. Blessings.

I have taken alot of risks in my life especially as I have gotten older. Quitting my job at the age of 50 and moving to New Mexico was a big risk. I loved it in the beginning but realized I didn't want to be there forever. So now I have moved to Puerto Rico and have lived here for a year and love it. These were big risks that people thought I was crazy but I did it and have been very happy with my decision. The other bigger decision was raising my two girls by myself and thank God did a pretty good job of it. If you don't take a risk you are not living in my opinion.

Hi lelin, Thank you for commenting and I like and agreed with what you say here. You took risks and are satisfied that things worked out well for you. You are to be congratulated. Risk taking can be about many different things. Can you imagine the number of women who are living in abusive marriages and are afraid to risk trying to get out of it and try making it on their own? Blessings.

Living your life each and every day to the fullest, that can be a risk to some people. I mean when you really think about it, there are many people who do live half lives, do not really get the most out of it. Because they are afraid of change, afraid of what living their life outside of their box will mean. However, when you think about it, a life without taking a risk every now and again, that is rather something that would be rather boring.
It would be a rather bland existence. Granted, when one thinks about it, there is a difference between taking risks and also from being reckless. There are many people who really have not been able to determine that fine line between risks and reckless when one thinks about it. Still every time, we got to step out of the mundane. And that is what I do a few times, every now and then again. Live life to its fullest. You never know when you might not get another chance. Therefore risks will add character for sure.

Hi megamatt, A great response, thank you. I agree completely we need to live life to the fullest, otherwise have we really lived at all? Granted, we must not be reckless but taking risks has to be part of living. Have you read the poem 'I bargained with life for a penny'? The poet speaks of how he bargained with life for a penny, only to discover at the end, that life would gladly have paid anything he had asked. I think there is a message in this for all of us. Blessings.

I love taking risks. It is through these things I can achieve my goals and can learn from it. I have always been the type of person who just follows what others say to me, but as time pass by, I learned to do it my way. I learned to take the risk. Even though I am not quite sure where it may lead to but nevertheless I tried. It may be scary to take your chances but what if the outcome is good. You might regret not taking the risk.

Usually I like to keep everything safe, be in control of everything but that's not always possible. And sometimes, to reach something important you'll need to take risks. So yeah, sometimes I'll be willing to take a risk, if I really want to achieve something it may be necessary.

I am a great pro and con list maker. This is what I do when I have time to consider a risk. Time is the secret here, that isn't always allowed. If I have no time I think of the most terrible outcome and how I would handle that and then I deciede what my choice will be. Of course if I wasn't attracted to the good outcome I wouldn't even consider the risk.

Hi savypat, Thank you for commenting and I think there are a lot of people right now who have been burned and risk taking is not as popular as it once was. As you say we have to be attracted to the best possible outcome to even consider it in the first place. Blessings.

Well, I understood that, with higher risk, the return is much greater, but I just don't have the gut to invest in any risky business. I had lost a lot recently, and I owe a lot of debt. Even invest in people is such a risky business, don't you know that. I learn my lesson, and I become a bit afraid of losing things lately. So, something too risky, I won't take a chance.
