I have read that refrigerators can increase Global warming but it is a very necessary appliance in our homes. I don’t know if there is an alternative unfortunately. There are a lot of modern appliances these days that ultimately harm the environment along with cars , motorbikes etc.….Some I am sure we could live whiting but a fridge is a must. Hello,fridge helps us in many ways and also fridge kills us,By promoting global warming!!it releases a gas called CFCs which makes ozone layer die!!So we should not use fridge even if it helps us in many ways!!i am sure technologies will be invented that will fulfill our need and also that do not harm our nature!!

Hi, shskumbla. A fridge is a great appliance to have in the kitchen. I know that I can't do without having one either. I don't know if the Global warming will increase in using the fridge. I can say that, a refrigerator is a great essential to have to keep all foods cold, fresh and yummy enough to eat.

I have no idea whether using fridge will result in hastening of global warming. But I think fridge is a necessity.

hi shskumbla, it's not free-on gas it's freon gas which is released by fridges, not only freon gas but also CFC's(chloro floro carbons) are also released by the refrigerator which reacts with ozone and is responsible for it's depletion.
