I love movies about dogs since I love dogs ever since. I just recently watched Marley and Me - the puppy years. I still find the original Marley and Me movie way better than this one. The original ones with Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson really made me cry. I also like the Hachiko movie with Richard Gere, very touching movie. Have you watch this latest Marley and Me movie? What can you say about it? Kindly share your thoughts on movies about dogs.

I have watched only a few dog movies which are really very touching. Hachiko was one of those touching story. It is about a faithful dog waiting for his master. It really makes me cry when i saw such a faithful dog around. I also watched Dalmatian, Turner and Hooch. I ever watched the cats vs. dogs which seems very interesting and full of action pack. I never thought that animals can be a very good actors, too...

Yes, you are right. In fact, not only me like to watch movies which have dogs as their actors. My son had started to get interest into it and had started to ask me to search for more movies which have dogs as their actors...

Dogs are good actors and they can play their roles well. I like it if they were being dubbed, very interesting. Super hero movies about dogs are also fun and entertaining.

I haven't seen Marley and Me or Hachiko, but I have seen other dog movies like Benji and Beethoven and I liked them, Benji being my favorite one!

The new Marley and Me movie, the puppy years was just released this year. But the original one was released about 2 or 3 years ago, I'm not that sure. I haven't watch Beethoven but I think it is the big Saint Bernard dog.

I have not seen Marley and Me but I read its review on the Wikipedia and I find its interesting and a moving one. I plan to watch it as soon as I can! Chiwasaki, you are right Beethoven is a Saint Bernard, a very adorable, cute and very naughty dog! I love the original one the best.

Hi chiwasaki! Was Marley and Me really good? I have never heard any good reviews about it and it wasn't that popular but I like Jennifer Aniston. Still, I did not watch it. ^^ But I've watched Hachiko! I've watched the original Japanese film. I cried buckets of tears from watching it. Hachiko was such a loyal dog. The film inspired me to have a pet dog. I just wish I can have an Akita breed. But of course, that would be impossible since we're in a tropical country. I don't watch animal movies much. I watched Hachiko because it was a Japanese movie. But I have watched Dalmatian before and some other dog movies that got very popular.

Hachiko movie is very touching indeed. The original Marley and Me is good. I cried in the end because Marley reminds me of my dog. We named the dog Aki the worst dog because he is similar with Marley.

THere was one about a woman who went blind and had to have a seeing eye dog. Had Elizabeth Montegomery from Bewitched in it. It is called Second Sight: A Love Story. A real tear jerker. She gets her sight back and has to make a very important decision. It is really a good movie.

Hello my friend chiwasaki Ji, So nice of you for your immediate and prompt positive comments. At times such incidence make such deep impressions on one's heart that they are un-recoverable and as such till you remove such impressions, it is very difficult to go for the next. Best is not to get attached with so much with anything. After all, everyone has to leave this world one day. Thanks. May God bless You and have a great time.

I also lost one of my dog recently. I don't want to get another dog as of this moment. So our dog right now is sad because she misses her friend and playmate.

Hi chiwasaki. I've watched Marley and Me. If you like dog movies, try watching Homeward Bound, Eight Below, Benji, Old Yeller and Lassie. Other than Eight Below, those other movies are old but really worth watching if you're a dog lover. When I was a kid, those were the only movies I'd watch other than cartoons so they're pretty good and most of them have that inevitable sniffles moment so you might as well bring some tissue with you if you do so.

I watched Homeward Bound before and it was a good movie. Marley and Me so far is the best because it really made me cry. And Marley reminds me of my dog who also passed away.

I had forgotten all about Homeward Bound and Eight Below, thanks for reminding haopee! I loved those movies and really cried when watching them, especially in Eight Below - the sensitivity of the protagonist Jerry Shepard who is reluctant to leave his dogs behind and has lost his peace of mind when he is forcibly removed from Antarctica without them! It really is a beautiful movie of the bond between him and the dogs!

I haven’t seen Marley and Me although I’ve heard it is quite good. To be honest I avoid animal movies because I get very upset should I see any animal hurt. When I was a kid I could not bear to watch any of the Lassie films because they would make me cry. We have a new movie here in Australia called Red Dog about a wandering dog and the effect he had on a lot of people. The film has had fantastic reviews but I am afraid to go and see it in case it turns me into a bawling mess!

I have watched Hachiko, it made hubby and I cry, it was really a touching story of a faithful dog waiting for his master. I thought Eight Below is the most dramatic, but I still have to say Hachiko made me cry even more. I also watched Marley and Me, Homeward Bound, Turner and Hooch but just okay as I can say and who can forget cats vs. dogs and scooby doo (even if animated). I always like to consider pets in movies, they really are taught great to act in the scene, two thumbs up!

I agree with you. The story is touching and moving. There is moral lesson that these pet movies will teach us.

I liked Harley and me, a really good dog movie also is Tuner and Hooch, starring Tom Hanks. Most dog stories always are sad for some reason. But the originals if its series like "air bud" are better than the part 2 or part 3 etc. Beethoven and 101 dalmatians (more the cartoon, original only) I also enjoyed when I was younger. Also, when I was younger I enjoyed talking dog movies (live action, not cartoons), but not anymore ha ha, I find them really cheesy.

I love movies about dogs too and movies with dogs in them. You can also watch "The tale of Maya and Three Puppies" It is also a Japanese movie with english subtitles and I am sure it will make you cry. There is also one movie with huskies and it is called "Eight Up". HOtel for Dogs is also touching and you can also try that one. Hachiko is a true story and it is one of the movies I will never forget and will not get tired to watch again.

I don't watch to watch Marley and Me because I know it would make me cry. When I was a child I would watch Old Yeller constantly. Now that I'm grown I don't want to see it because I know it would make me cry. Old Yeller was a good movie. If you haven't seen it, it's a great movie if you want to see a movie about a dog.

No I haven't seen the Shiloh movies. Old movies most of the times are way better than the new one. Movies about dogs have a great moral lesson.

I've seen Marley and me! My friend convince me to watch it and said that it was really sad. At first, when I started to watch the beginning, it was really funny and I loved how crazy the dog was and I was wondering, how can this be sad? Then as the dog aged and then I saw why it was so sad. It made me cried. It's such a sweet and touching film. A dog is truly a man's best friend.
