How will you handle? While getting more and more responses

Hello my dear friend! Yes I do enjoy commenting on all responses in my discussion. I do feel that out of courtesy I owe to it the members who do respond. I do get 50 - 100 responses and do comment back to all of them. I do not start many discussions and if I started more then one daily I would be exhausted too. It is not compulsory to comment back to all it is out of choice. Do keep in mind that if a discussion starter does continually ignore the responses with time members do stop responding. I probably would suggest to do one topic at a time and when you have exhausted the comments then start another a different day. It is your choice but I have seen it several times before where members who were continually responding stopped and the discussion starter receives less responses.

hi:) yeah I do the same, when I got a lot of responses I try to reply it all the next time I'm on mylot, but sometimes it consumes my first hour just to respond to all of that, but as you said, it's our obligation to respond to their response because that's the right thing to do and it's not also good if we don't respond at all. hehe but I like reading all their responses, people here on mylot are so polite and can share a lot of good info. Hello Surekha, As you know that I am not starting many topics; if I start one topic then I will make sure that finish the comments of that one before starting another topic. If I get fresh replies to my old topics, I will check those in between and commenting back to them. I agree commenting back to all people, if there is huge number of responses, is a tedious task. But I wish each and every responder treated in a same manner, I mean we have to comment back to all. I don’t think there is any time frame for commenting back, if we don’t have time then we can do the comments when we have enough time.

I am not a responsible person to write comments to the responses I got for my discussions. Nowadays I am unable to be a regular member on mylot. Because of this problem many time i fail to write comment for the responses. I fell always guilty for my bad habit.

Hi surekha I very seldom start discussions. But if I do, I will make sure that I comment back to all the response I get. And I usually take my time in commenting back to my responses as I have to check back my other comments which I have left on other myLotters' discussions. It is not necessary for you to comment back on all your responses in one day, so maybe you can comment back a few per day.

Hello Surekha, I also find it difficult to comment back to the responses i get on my discussions but i feel thats not good as we should in any case comment back to the responder.I feel it difficult to comment back to responses these days as i am not that much active here as i was few days back due to offline works but surely i have lot of things to share and discuss but i don't do that presently because i know i wont be able to continue the discussion due to time constraint. At present also i have lot of responses pending to comment back further but surely i will surely finish them shortly and won't leave anything pending. I always have in my mind that a good discussion is where people respond and comment back otherwise there is no meaning of just responding it.

Personally we have all been there, but I find it worth taking time even if it takes a little time to respond back to all who respond back to all the discussions I start just to let them know I am interested in what they are saying. Yes, it can take quite a bit of time to do so, and can take you away from being able to respond back to others, but I have my own pattern of doing things that works for me as I seem to find the time.

I know what you mean. When does it end? You can't keep replying to reponses. I figure that I comment once on each reponses. I may comment on another reponse if it is important. Otherwise it just goes on and on.

Hi sureka! I can very well understand your point that when we need to post our comments on each and every response, large number of responses could be troublesome [em]lol[/em. In this scenario, I go selective and I leave those responses, which are not relevant to my discussions. You see there are some users, who will write anything either connected with the core issue in the discussion or not, they just put forth their views, without thinking twice. I make it a point to post my comments on the responses received and during that time, I avoid answering new posts or starting new posts, till am done with.

hi surekharahi wow you really are getting great responses do some each day if you have a lot as that's what I have to do.one of mine has got up to 74 responses so I had to come back and comeb ack so no do not leave some as that does hurt those who did not get a comment you know. Just do what you can when you can and all of us will understand.

Hello, it is out moral duty to comments on responds. Think for a while if your speaking with some one and he/she not listing you, than how you will feel. I don't post to much discussion so I will not recd. enough responses. You can type a common message to say thanks.

Hi Friend As far as I remember I haven't missed a single response for commenting back. I always likes to comment back all the responses. I know sometime it feels tired but it is always tomorrow. We can come back on next day and can treat them all. By this way we will able to read all the responses and who knows we can found something new on no.50 response too.

hiii surekha I not started more discussion but you are right when received more responses then I cannot comment back on all because I join mylot only for 1 hours daily. Sometime more so I cannot do this comment to all...but try to comment back if possible.. But I have seen you always comment on each and every response thats great.. I am lazy

My habit is a bit different. Unless something urgent comes along I have to do outside of myLot. I look at my myLot notifications when I first get on the computer. I spend a few minutes reading comments on my discussions, and answering those that I can think of something to say in a reply so as to keep the conversation going.Some people don't add anything new in a reply or ask a question, and I don't always reply to those responses. After I spend some time doing that, I start looking at new discussions of my friends and read and reply to those that interest me and appear not to violate guidelines. And I rate. I also try to start one or two new discussions a day if I can think of any. Right now I am not on my home computer so I'm just replying to discussions on the front page that look interesting. I don't have access to my email notifications here, so when I get home late tonight I will start replying to anything I've been notified about. Working this way helps me get through all my responses and discussions and the discussions others have started, as well as starting new discussions. I usually start new discussions before bed or before I go somewhere so that people have a chance to respond before I get back.

i don't think it's a duty or responsibility per se. if you wish to respond back it's fine, if not then it's also ok. remember, if you really want to earn much more, you participate more. we are being paid with what we type here and not from what the others have done, not even with the responses with earn from our discussions.

I always try to respond to all the responses I received, in each of my discussion. But, sometimes I'm confused. Because, I do not know, have to respond to anything. If it were so, I was not responding.

I look at it this way. We start discussions, we respond to discussions. Now, when e get a response to a discussion we started, we go and respond to the response. Also, we get notifications to responses of the response we made to someone else's topic. We go and respond to that. Now, here is how I handle it. I get all my email notifications everyday, I try and respond to all the discussion that my friends started, but I only respond t those that interest me. Then, when it comes to a response to a response, that depends on how far I think it can go, like if it seems like the discussion can no longer be replied to, then I leave it alone. It is in-depth, but I do what I can. Now, I start a discussion when I catch up on all my email notifications. It is all up to you, really.

You don't need to comment back all that replied to your discussion. You can give them a (+) instead of commenting back. That's what I do sometimes. When comment of a mylotter is too short say 1 sentence then I don't comment back. I'm happy when many people commented on my discussion and I like to read each comment they made.

I think it is a good thing to have a discussion period so if someone is interested enough to have a discussion with me I think I like to continue the discussion. For me it is that simple. Sometimes a discussion will come to an end and a person could indicate it I suppose. It depends too on the day you are having.
