We were lucky that our names sound good when they are merged together. So when we knew that we are to get a baby girl, we immediately know what name to give her. And, as it turned out, it was a wonderful name. We gave her a second name wherein it was significant to the date in which she was born.

I've always wanted the name Gabriel... from angel Gabriel... so I named my son Gabriel Angelo. I was actually thinking, when he grows up, he would be ashamed to make a mess out of his life because his name is angelic...he should act like an angel too. LOL. But I hope he really will be a good son to me.

I only had one daughter. I was wanting a son, so I was only picking out boys names. My husband told me when I was 9 months pregnant that I might ought to pick out a girl's names because he had a tendancy to have girls in his last marriage.
He had had 3 of them already.
So I thought about it, and decided I might ought to do that after all. I happened to be reading a book at that time about a spanish family. There was an aunt in there with a beautiful first name. That was the name I chose, and I used my mom's name for her middle name!

My name is a combination of my parents name, while they got my brother's name from a baby book. The first syllable of my name is from the first syllable of my father's name and the second syllable of my name is from the second syllable of my mother's name. If it is also possible in your case, try the "combination" thing. It find this method cool.
