I enjoyed getting out today

Today has been an overcast day... it's kind of damp and dreary here. I had to take my daughter to the doctor this morning, so we went a little bit early and went to McDonald's and had breakfast. Then I took my daughter to her doctor and I stayed in the car and mylotted on my phone. When she got out we went to the pharmacy to get her perscription and I stopped at Pizza Hut in the Target store next to the pharmacy in Target and I picked up our lunch.
I have wanted to try that Chicken Alfredo meal they have at Pizza Hut so I bought two servings of it. It comes in a tin and in a box like a pizza box. That stuff was Soooooo good it would make you slap your mama! I mean that is good! I told my daughter that I believe I could make this myself with some pasta noodles, chicken, alfredo sauce and white cheddar cheese.
Have you ever eaten something that is carry out that is so good that it will knock your socks off? I was kidding about slapping mama.. (for those who might not understand my humor).

I've never had anything that was that good at any fast food restaurant. I have had some excellent meals at small, local restaurants, though.
The chicken alfredo would be easy to make at home--and without all of the sodium and such that Pizza Hut has in theirs. That's one of the (many) things that I generally dislike about the chain restaurants--the sodium overload. The last time I was at Red Lobster, for instance, the pasta I ordered tasted like someone had dumped a salt shaker on it.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't go for salt-free; for instance, I do love salty potato chips. I do use salt, but I only add a little salt while preparing food (a habit born out of the several years that I cooked for a housemate who was and still is severely overweight; I didn't want to risk her developing high blood pressure on my watch, so I cut back the sodium).

I like Red Lobster too. I don't have a problem with the taste of salt.. it wasn't salty to me... it was just good. I don't add salt to my food at home.. I use No Salt. I can't stand the sodium free stuff on the market like V-8 juice and stuff.. it's horrible. I haven't tried anything sodium free in restaurants.. not sure they even have it.

Good iea. I don't add any salt but I do use NO-SALT. it tastes good to me. I have to take HCTZ for my blood pressure. I get a lot of sodium from canned foods. My family buys a lot of canned stuff cause it has a long shelf life and is cheaper. It's a struggle for me to maintain a healthy diet that way but I try.

Today is a mediocre day, to say the least. As I work for this company, it's carefully turning out into a routine and I don't like it. It's not the place, not the pay, it's the people I'm irritated about. They're all so fake. I'm sure you also don't wanna be around these types of people.

Yeah, typically book-smarts are not really that street-smarts, and that goes the other way around too. But it's mostly preferred that a person is street-smarts because they already had the hands on experience.

There are just some people that you just can't stand to be around for very long. I get that. I would hate to be around snooty people who act like they are better than me all the time. That is so fake, and they put their clothes on the same way I do.. so why do they think they are smarter, better or whatever. True, some might have letters behind their name, but that doesn't mean they have more sense than I do. I work for myself now... I was a nurse, and of course I was a lowly LPN.. and my bosses were RN's and some had MSN or ASN behind their names .. like RN, MSN, or RN, ASN. Well, I did the work of an RN even if I didn't get the pay for it. I had as much or maybe even more common sense than they did with only their book sense.

Oh Gosh! I would love that. We have a Dominos in Winder, but they don't deliver here. I love KFC also... and I also love some of the newer shops that have opened up that sell fried chicken.. can't think of the name.

I would have enjoyed all of that too. I hope she gets better if she is sick and you seem to have enjoyed your day out with your daughter eating. Must be nice to get out to go eat and waht not during the week. I have been so busy with work and then working online that i dont have time to get out and do stuff. I will be going out Next Weekend by myself since my mom wont be in town and i can get some christmas shopping done that i need to get done. I have some gift cards to use so i will only be using those as bills need to be paid first before spending my money.
Im glad someone got out today and enjoyed themself because today had been a dreary rainy nasty day outside here as well. It rained once but it doesnt look to nice outside.
Now i have eaten quit a few thing sin life and only a couple times have i said that was really good.

It's been drizzly here too and very gray and cloudy sky. I went back out and got another version of that pasta stuff for supper... it was with spaghetti sauce, sausages and pepperoni in it.. I made corn on the side and we had bread sticks and marinara sauce. My SIL loved it. So I know I can make this at home too. I still have a chicken alfredo left that Kim and I can split for lunch tomorrow.

Yes, we can actually take out the best foods from a restaurant. Having eaten it before as delicious from that restaurant, assures us that it's delicious the next time around because they have a standard to maintain.
I actually like taking out "Season's" chicken from a famous restaurant here in our place. No matter how many times i have tried, i cannot exactly copy, the sauce they put over that fried chicken, which is what actually making the chicken so delicious. We really like it so much!

Actually, it's just a breaded fried chicken, but has a very delicious sauce, which is really a trade secret of the restaurant.
When we buy , we always order for extra sauce. That way, we get to enjoy it more.

Hi Simplyd! Welcome to my discussion. I've never heard of Season's chicken.. but it sounds soooo good. I like to try and copy recipes, but I don't always get them right.. but I think I could do a fair job making those dishes from pizza hut.

There is an Italian restaurant not too far from where I work that delivers that makes some Good Italian noodle dishes that come in a tin that there is No way that I could even begin to compare with for taste. They just really melt in your mouth, and one serving could feed 2 people or lasts me 2 meals. Their portions are really nice size. They have an Alfredo one with meatballs in it that is too die for.

That one with meat balls sounds wonderful too. I like it when there are big portions that you can split for 2 meals.. it makes it worth the money. I'm glad you have a restaurant near you that has great food.

Hi PQ
So glad you enjoyed your meal. That sort of thing is a big NO-NO for me on at least 2 counts lol. First, I cannot afford take out and second, that would not be such a healthy meal for me unless it was low fat cheese and then I could have a very (very ) small portion.
I made a lasagne a couple of weeks ago that was just scrummy. I quite often cook meals that are super delicious...it's usually a really good way of working out what I should NOT be eating...lol.

Hi, PointlessQuestions. I know how good a meal can taste that will make you want to slap your mama! My husband uses this phrase so much! I can say this about the Chinese vegetable fried rice at Teriyaki Wok in the town that I live in. The rice is so delicious until the point that I ate so much until I could not get enough! I am glad that you have enjoyed eating at Pizza Hut and spending quality time with your daughter too. Good luck on making your own Chicken Alfredo at home!

You must also live in the south? I've only heard it used in the south. I love that expression. I think I will make that chicken Alfredo for Thanksgiving. We have turkey but we also have other choices. So this will be a good one.

It's sounds like you had a lovely day. I love to eat at Pizza Hut, but I am on a diet at the moment so I can't really eat foods such as that as much as I might have done in the past. When I was younger I used to eat take out foods at least twice each week when I would go out with all of my friends as we didn't have enough money to get anything else from anywhere really. But it's all nice food taking into account the amount of money that you pay for it, it's just a shame that it isn't a little bit healthier, really.

Yeah, it is really a shame they don't have lighter choices.. I can make that chicken alfredo dish at home with the light alfredo sauce... I think that would be good. I could go lighter on the cheese or use low fat cheese.

That sounds so good! A soup for breakfast! It sounds like it might be a little on the sweet side.. is it? I would love it, I bet. If you would mind sending me a PM with exactly how you make it, I will try it and let you know how I liked it. I am always looking for something new and different that my family might like.

OMG!!!! I'm so sorry you got bucked off and got hurt. I'm glad you are okay.. you could have broken your neck! I wonder what was wrong with the horse to behave that way.. maybe something didn't feel right to him and he bucked to get you off.. maybe he was hurting or something. Sorry that happened to you.

For the most part I do not find that many foods that I like that much. On the other hand, even if the food is very good, hubby and I try to figure out how we could make the same thing. Many times ours is better. It is fun to go get new ideas from restaurants, though. I would have to have the chicken alfredo at Pizza Hut. Hubby will not eat pasta. I like shrimp alfredo, but we do not get that at Pizza Hut.

Hi Gerty! Oh that chicken Alfredo was so good. I will be making it. Maybe for Thanksgiving. I had crab meat Alfredo at my brother's house on vacation. His girlfriend/life partner is a great cook. I loved it. I think I could make it with salmon too. Yes, Gerty, I think it is great when we can recreate a good restaurant dish.

Sounds like y'all had a good day out. I very seldom ever eat out or get carry out. We don't have alot of great places to eat in my town to start with. I have heard that expression all my life so i didn't think u were going to slap anyone, lol.

Heee! Not everyone is familiar with that expression. Especially people not familiar with native English speaking in colloquial terms. Oh.. that is sad there is no good place to eat there where you live. My grandson lives in Cleveland Mississippi and there isn't much there either. I love the stuff in our town.. there are a lot of great places to eat.

On slapping mama!
Yes a few weeks ago I had this really yummy burger, it was so thick, juicy and had a very special type of seasoning to it. So a couple of days ago, I went ahead and made some home-made burgers here and added our Hispanic Seasonings to it.
OMG, it tasted exactly like the one we bought from the take out. I am not sure if they too had added this spice to it but darn I was so slapping me!
