I'm kind of missing my cat, it's been months since the her death. It's anyway I remember a time when I have to bathe my cats because licking herself want clean her at all. My cat got dirty after hiding under a greasy car. I remember when I gave my cat I got lots of scratches and she tried to bite me. I saw a woman in youtube, who bathes her cat and her cat is not fighting back.
The video is really cute because the cat is like talking for crying but she is not fighting back.
This is the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSLEoDsTR-E
What are your experiences when attempted to make your cat take a bath?
----
Some bonus trivia:
There is a breed of cat that loves water and loves swimming, it's called Turkish Van, this cat breed is not afraid of water at all.

Did your cat tried to escape or something? I know this cat's automatically gets angry the moment they saw water is getting year to them. The only go to water when they want to drink

If you start them early enough, they do get used to baths.
Saying that, I had one cat, Midnight, he hated baths, and I had battle scars all up and down my arms, chest and neck every time I had to bath him.
Another cat, Smokie, we'd put her in the bath, she'd just sit there crying, but would pee, as if to say, "oh well.. I'm wet anyway.. may as well relieve myself"
My current cat Chloe is long hair and doesn't mind getting wet.
My other cat, Cruiser, she's only 7 months old, and also doesn't mind getting wet.

Try bath instead of shower. Most cats won't tolerate showers, but baths you usually have more luck.

I will be happy if I can have a cat who loves water Because the last cat I have is a pain in the butt when it comes to shower time. She loves using her claws. I want really base her and she bass and go under those cars to be covered in grease. The cat in the video is really charming because she doesn't fight back and she cries like a baby.

I wouldn't dare to bath a cat coz I'm afraid to get scratches from them. But my husband, I saw him bathing our cat before and its me who gets scared more, but surprisingly, he didn't get scratches, because he do it gently at first especially when he's applying the soap/shampoo but when its time for rinsing, he puts the cat in a cage and spray her with lots of water using a hose....hehe

If a reincarnation is true, Houdini must be at cat now, because kitties are like a bunch of escape artist.

hello capt,
You remind me of my youngest son who bath our cat because of same reason,it got so much grease when hiding under the car.
My son is a bit clever, he puts on gloves so the cat was not able to leave scratch marks after fighting.
Yes, I saw that video where cats loves to bath.
have a good day

Only once I tried to give bath to my cat. But I couldn't. My cat jumped and ran away from the bathroom. then only I learnt that bathing is not important for cats. they clean themselves by licking their body. that is enough for them. my cat was always clean, shining and beautiful. But my cat is lost.

I don't really like the idea of bathing cats but for sure there will be incidents where it's going to be so necessary, you know those emergencies that will make us have no choice but to give them a bath.
