I used to write a lot. I used to have my creative juices flow incessantly. That is why the blog. But there came a time when everything about writing seems to take a halt. My mind has nothing in it to offer. It is not just a writer's block. It's like mental block.
I digress.
The best time for me to write is when I am in pain, physically, and much more, emotionally. I don't know. When I go over my write-ups, my blog posts, and some articles. It is the angst that gives color to the words. Even in pain, there is beauty.

The best time for me to write is in the evening or when everybody is sleeping. I really hate to disturb by my relatives when i am in front of computer writing my article or blog. And also I don't want them to know or read what I write. They don't know that I have a blog actually ^_^

With creative writing I think, we need sometimes to give ourselves a break. Call it downtime or perhaps input, observation, experience, reflection time, what ever providing that we can accept the fact that what we are doing is not creative writing but creative thinking and that is ok. In other words maybe we do not need to beat ourselves up but accept the fact that sometimes we are not writing for a reason. What ever the reason is we may not actually be blocked, just not writing.
On the other hand writing in general can still occur as a rant (better to stay positive though) or anything (like posting stuff) that might prompt us to write, write, write, right? Did any of what I just wrote make sense?

it did, it did make sense.
looks like you are one talented individual. you can weave words from your thoughts! and that is creative thinking!
there were many instances that i did just that. write, write, write! even in the middle of a seminar, or in a bus, or while feeling sleepy (could you believe that? it is true! ).

Thanks for the compliment, it was appreciated, trust me it was, no way you wrote while sleeping, oh sorry, that was feeling sleepy, my mistake. Well, I am always sleepy. :-) I used to write every day three pages of complete garbage, anything I was thinking, happy or sad and to be honest it was mostly about why I was writing three pages of ______ or my doubts about everything. It was very depressing, sad and not very good. Many of the pages just did not make sense, was glad they could get tossed without worry and glad I continued to write through that time period. I like the idea given in the next comment of changing our media. Recently, after buying one of those cheap journals (one dollar) you will see someone sitting and using a pencil to put down thoughts while having a coffee (always sleepy)and getting strange looks from the people using laptops.

I usually write in the morning or the afternoon. The later it gets the more I tend to not write as well so I try to write during the day when I'm awake and want to write my reviews.

For me the best time is whenever i am alone in our bedroom, when hubby isn't home yet. I would switch off the tv and let my mind flow as to what i am going to write, like my discussions here at Mylot.

I cannot write when I am in physical pain. I do write poetry especially when I am emotional. But I do most of my writing when I am fresh. When I start getting tired, I can no longer write. And it also has to do with is I have something to say or not. But thats why I love MyLot, I read the discussions and if I can contribute to it I respond.

Why would you say that? Do you mean you cannot focus because you're here often and it takes away from your other interests? I think that every writer, poets and novelists, all go through a period of writers block. I think that is normal. We all need to press that restart button once in a while.

Hello bingskee.
I think all the time writing is very good therapy. I love to write all the time. For me the best time to write is when I am happy. Then I wish to give to people around me same feelings. You are right, you can write in pain times and there is same time something beautiful because we are human being. There are sunny days and rainny days. So, we are beautiful because we are some time sad some time happy. All these moments can be memorized on piece of paper. Now I like to write all the time when I have a new idea, a new dream, a new way to do something. All the time I look for something new, something different to do. The best time to write for me is when I am happy. I write too when I am sad. I want to write for all of us or all of you. See you soon!

Hi bingskee. I believe the best mood to write is writing texts which can be read. All the time I try to write articles which can be read aloud, with voice. I know there is a difference between writing and spoken English. I prefer spoken English. To put there togethere I try to write texts which can be read :). Then reading aloud, using voice, is much better then only reading or writing without voice. By voice we can communicate more emotions, more collors, so on. That's it.

Hi there Bingskee,
Since I write for a living, I have to force myself to write way before my deadlines. I don't need emotional pain or strong emotions to get through a piece. I just need to get around to doing it. Haha!
Sometimes, because of the bad, ingrained habit of procrastination, I end up waiting too long before I get to my work. Thus, I kick myself at the 11th hour by drinking coffee or even an energy drink to finally get to it.
While I have been known to write any time of the day, I personally prefer nighttime, because the dark, and the focused light is just better for my concentration. For some reason, the diffuse daytime light is just too distracting for me.
As for that mental/writer's block, I find that it does happen, especially when I'm emotionally distraught. I shake it off by remembering that I have responsibilities, especially to myself: I need to get fed! Haha!
It was fun answering this discussion. :)

procrastination is always the enemy.. it is this bad habit that defeats me. but then again, if one is inspired, he will not procrastinate because the urge to write is always there.
i also find it difficult to write when you have to write about an assigned article which is not really that of interest to you.

Of course the best time for a writer to write is when new ideas or thoughts pop into our minds. For me, when I was writing reviews for a website, I usually have to deal with writer's block. What I do is that I will wake up very early in the morning, early like 5 or 6am then I am going to write. I realized that writing just after I wake up early in the morning makes it a lot easier for me to write. New ideas and thoughts come in and our minds are fresh and there are no disturbances when writing early in the morning.

For me, the best time to write is in the quite evening. I write mainly fiction though, so I need to concentrate to let the creative juices flowing. Fiction requires lots of imagination and I cannot "daydreaming" in a busy and nosy area .
I try to "make time" to write. I am writing my first novel and I abandoned it because I thought I don't have enough time to finish it. Now, I force my self, and I want that story to end. So I write whatever comes to my mind, no matter how ugly idea is. I can always edit that later, but I cannot edit a blank page, can I?
I used to write articles in the past but due to having no expertise at any kind, I stop

Hello bingskee!
Interesting as I could not be inspired as you when I am down. I find that it is best for me to write when I am at my most highest spirits. I have neglected my writing quite a bit, primarily because I have had it tough lately and can't find the motivation I once had.
I can't bring myself these days to buckle down and get as serious as I was. I am hoping to be inspired once again but a tough one for now. Glad to see you back dear.

The best time for me to write is when the moment of idea strikes. I don't know why but I like to write in that eureka moment so that I don't lose any idea or whatever I was thinking on that moment. Another great time is in-between writing because I have time to evaluate and see if my writing has a sense (in my opinion). I don't have a specific part of day or place but I remedy the situation by carrying paper and pencil or my phone to jot down some ideas.

It depends on the type of writing you're talking about. I write to make money and I need a clear, rested mind, unclouded by personal problems to do that. Now, if I am writing poetry or fiction, writing from angst seems to work because when we're emotional, it's easier to describe and pull people into our emotions. I used to write things like that and thought they were really good. Maybe some of them were, but when I read back through some of them, they embarrass me.

writing about money seems to me technical and factual. one has to be very careful with these types.
i forgot to mention that what i was talking about is creative writing. i do not find those posts and write-ups i did from angst embarrassing. it makes me wonder, on the other hand, why i cannot write that good anymore.

I dont feel like there is a certain time i just write when i have time to write. It helps me to write down things i want to write about and then cross them off when i get it done. There are so many things right now i have to write on and do slideshows on for associated content but its like when i get the time i will do some but right now im at work so it doesnt give me the time to do my articles or do my slideshows i would like to do. It all has to do with time for me and hopefully tommorrow if i am not working all day i can get home and do another slideshow i have on my mind to do and one other article i have on my mind i need to get done as well.
Im hoping to get some done soon and get them done this month because next month is when i will be getting paid for my views on associated content and i would like to have as much money possible coming from that site to get some christmas presents ordered.

I am constantly writing, except when I'm not at my computer. However, when I write, I have to be in the mood. The mood to write can occur at any given time. Sometimes I have the mood when I am in bed and need to sleep. Like this one day I woke up at 6 a.m, and with only four hours of sleep there was this urge to write. I tried to ignore it because I was tired and wanted to sleep. But the scene persisted, and I had no choice. I got out of bed and wrote an entire page to my original fantasy before I felt relieved and went back to sleep.
Other times I'll want to write when I'm stuck behind a cash register! This is very difficult for me, because as you know we can't exactly keep writing whenever we want to. But there are also times when I don't feel like writing. Currently, I have articles that are due with the Examiner. I also need to write a few articles for Associate Content.. And my original fantasy isn't anywhere near completed.
And yet... I want to write. For some reason I can't get myself to. Well, unless you count this. Because this is writing. :)

wow. such zeal. i had that a long time ago. so just let your creative juices flow 'til the time it would seem to run out. but maybe you will continually write because it looks like it is your passion.
here's hoping that the desire will not wane, and that concerns around you and with your environ will not affect your desire to write.
kudos!
