I would like to share my insights of what I've watched recently at s documentary. As we all know the government should provide what the community needs, here in the Philippines many barangays don't have a source of drinking water, a road, hospitals, schools and other facilities that these people need. It's just so unfair that some places have these facilities and most places doesn't have anything, It's just so sad to see these people suffer if only there's something i can do i want to help them. What can you say about this simple problems that the government can't provide?

There is a different between doesn't seem to care and doesn't care at all, if the people living in a community do not have any drinking, water, road, hospital , school and so on and forth, then they need to confront their elected representative in their district/ province to demand action be taken, they can exercise their voting power in the election period if the elected official wouldn't carry out his/her duty by kicking him out of the government body. The community leader need to act instead of continue to accept the despicable condition within their community, i'm sure a politically active community can change their living condition to a better situation if they can act in unison in the face of official incompetency and corruption since Phillippine is still a democracy so far where the people can demand accountability from their elected official.

I think if you are in a democratic country then you have the right of the voting for your leader. You need to have a strong media there. You can put the news on a news paper if you konw any good reporter over there.
Political people are elected by us and they can be changed if you show them your power. They care only about votes and tey will provide the facility at such places where they get teh maximum votes. However a good politician should make a system in which the care should be taken of every place and every community. Next timem chose your leader wisely who will take care of you.

That is correct, the community need to choose their leader carefully and wisely, if not, they may end up without any basic public services like drinking water, hospital, etc.. So basically, they are in such a despicable situation mainly of their own fault by voted a corrupter into office who is too busy stealing from the federal government allocated county or local development fund into his own pocket than spending it on public services. Sometime it is just senseless, many of the corrupt officials in those developing countries always get re-elected in new election after another election even though the local community and villagers had to live without all these basic services for ages. I can never comprehend that sort of mentality from those villagers.

As i have heard from the people who are being documented on the video, they have requesting these needs from their leader of the municipality or region, after 10 long years there are still no such facilities, so many politicians have promised to provide these needs, as for the confrontation issue once you confront the mayor or questioned them why aren't you answering the needs of your community, they will answer that the budget allotted is not enough to provide all the needs and whatsoever. I'm just a concerned citizen of my country.

The Barangay Chairman should inform the Congressman in charge and ask for financial assistance. Every Congressman receives a regular "pork barrel" that should be spent for the health and welfare of the people of his district. I just hope the Congressmen concerned are not corrupt. Aarrchhggg!...the evils of society!

You should go ask you're local official what they are doing with the internal revenue allotment. You also ask yourself if vote buying exists during elections, if there's vote buying, that's the answer to the questions on the why the locality is failing in delivering even the most basic services. You should be checking on the lifestyle of your local officials. Just a few days ago, a congressman representing one of the poorest municipalities in the Philippines was seen driving a sports car. There, that's a clue on where the money goes.

Hi, i know corruption is the main cause of these things, and yes vote buying really do exist and will never end, because of such reasons, that's why people are getting tired of paying taxes because of the anomalies in the country. We will never know where our money goes. Hopefully the freedom of information bill will be passed so that we can see every moves of the politicians.

this is the main problem that facing not only in your country, in many of other countries,it is the main and core thing to develop, i dont know why the governments are not paying much attention on it, governments are releasing funds to develop those basic needs, but they are getting failure making out in figure, this is because of corruption.public should realise what is happenning, they have to awake this is what we need to do,it is not about government it is about ourselves and coruption
