I often get a similar problem and what i do then is simply uninstall useless programs and stop the working of programs running in background. I get satisfactorily high processing speed by doing this. Computer works slow mainly because of the usage of ram by more and more programs installed.

You have to check your pc and the available hard disk memory. yOu might need to have your pc cleaned us as well. Download some registry monitor software and from time to time, you also need to de fragment it as well. Of course you know for sure not to download software that are not certified, or are not legitimate.

Besides running antispyware and antivirus software I would use CCleaner to clear the cookies and the registry. Also, defrag your computer. It helps.

First thing to do is to run a antivirus to detect if there is a malicious programs that are running to your system.Try also to run ccleaner to remove unnecessary files to your system. Also check your PC manual for what kind of RAM memory you are using and if is possible to upgrade it for better performance.

there are many possible ways to improve your system performance.. remove usused icons on the desktop.. remove startup programs entries.. delete temp files from your %temp% location.. defragement your hard disk.. scan your system with antivirus.. etc.. all these steps take a day but its good practice to do it every month or two months..

First you need to do some clean up in your p/c, by scanning it with anti-malware and anti-spyware software, then delect all those found, after that, you can do a disk clean, and disk partition for a more efficient disk allocation. Hopefully it can speed up your slow p/c, if not, you have to try other more technical tune-up like registry clean up and tweak, memory resource tweak, additional memory size, etc... it is quite a complicated task for me to spell all out for you here.

Depends on what you define by 'computer'.
Do you mean desktop and programms running slow, you mean slow on web browsing? :)
Because this are different things and there are different solutions to solve this problem.
