If Mylot would stop paying, would you leave?

I know this is only a hypothetical question, but what would you do if Mylot wouldn't pay for your activity anymore, but it would be only a social network? Would you quit being active? Or you've got so addicted to it, that it doesn't really matter anymore if you get paid or not? I believe that I would still be a member, but maybe I would spend a bit less time.
So how about you?

I have already gotten to the point where I no longer look at my money. I go to my email and just respond to the new discussions that interest me. For a matter of fact today I was amused because I have not noticed in so long that when I logged on today I already had 8.75 last time I looked I was at like 5.00. I am not sure what I have been doing but it must have been something right!

If I was depended on my earnings it would take the fun out of it. I think of the money as a little reward. But I do actually enjoy it here and get excited to see what discussions are thought of next.

I am glad that you are so independent from your earnings. Of course, quality work here is rewarded and if you have increased your earnings fast, then you are certainly doing quality work. Keep up the good work.

Very positive way of thinking...It seems that mylot is for you a better place than facebook is for many others.

I guess this is the general thinking of the members here. This is how I would do also, but hope I won't have to make this decision.

Personally this is a question that many have pondered on a lot of times, and I know for one it would be one I am not sure on. I know the yrs. I have been here, I have seen the pay in here decrease but I am still around. It is interesting to be able to come here and meet so many wonderful people from all over the world and be able to discuss so many things going on in one's life. There are a lot of interesting things to talk about here, and I actually learn a lot. I think I would miss it too much if I ever decided to leave here completely.

So mylot paid more at the beginning for the activity? I am a member for 1 year and a half I think, so I don't know how it was in the beginning. Judging after the nr of your responses and your response, I think you are here for a long time. I do hope that we won't have to decide about this question ever in our life.

If this will happen, I will surely be using mylot because I'm my day would not be complete if I don't open my mylot account and read the post of other mylotters. Money for me is just a second option my really makes my extra time more fun and enjoy
by reading some post.

So you look at Mylot as a real social network which gives you some sort of incentives for spending time here. I guess this is the best attitude which members can have here.

You will love the moment when you will receive your mail which informs you that mylot has sent you money.
Keep up the good work and you will also be rewarded for the fun you have here.

If mylot stopped paying, I would still be a member, but I would spend a lot less time on here. I really enjoy reading the discussions and have found some valuable advice and information on mylot. So, yes i would still be a member.

I see that you are a new member and you already feel a sort of addiction to this site, which is great. I wish you to keep up the good work and you will feel very good when you will receive your first payment.

That is quite the interesting question, and I really don't even want to know the answer to this one. I still think that I would pop in a little bit at each time but subconsciously speaking, I might be less inclined to be here as often. Granted, there is a lot to be said about the community, but there are times where I have to make a productive use of my time online and if it doesn't pay, I think that it would be scaled back to be more of a leisure activity as opposed to one where I constantly think of.
That is not to say that I would ever completely leave. The quality of discussions are rather amusing. Its just that I might become a rather silent observer of this website more so, checking in for a brief mental health break in between other things. Of course, I do see many discussions catching my interest. The again it is one of those things that we won't know for sure until it happens.

I hope that we will never have to find out if we would leave or not, which means that mylot would stay always up and legit.

That is a very good question. I'll probably spend less time here in myLot. I'll just probably open it to check if there's a good discussion. But more likely, I won't be that active anymore.

That is the way I also think of myself. I would probably not leave, but I would certainly spend less time here. Hope we will never have to find out how it would be if mylot would stop paying.

To be honest, i will not leave. Though i must admit, it wouldn't be as often as now. But i would not definitely leave, because it's my easiest way of making my brain work and express my feelings.

I am happy that you feel this way. There are times when we really need to share something and one of the best solutions is to come here.

Your honesty is to appreciate. But I believe if you will spend more time here and you will be a senior here, you will not think only on the incentives. Keep up the good work.

hi:)
Maybe not,I enjoy myself reading some discussions here and also giving responses, I'm not after incentives because it's so small, I'm after what I learn here in mylot, I'm only a member for one month now and I can say that my English is improving. like I'm having an English lesson for free:D
good day friend!

This is what I have noticed myself also. My written English has improved a lot, I believe. And I have to say that the speed I type with is increasing also thanks to mylot, as I have plenty of discussions which I responded to and that helped me improving my typing speed.
BTW, I see that you have responded lots of questions here, you have 810 responses in a single month. I guess you are very near your first cashout, if you haven't reached it already

I think everybody joined because of the incentives, but after a while you don't care only for the income, I suppose. Of course, it may happen, but judging after the majority of the responses, the users are here for fun and knowledge as well.

I see. Then you will need to work hard here and you will get some extra income. If you are interested in many other money making opportunities, just let me know.

I would not leave. I joined myLot about four years ago, and I am very glad that I did. This is a unique place to socialize, to meet and make friends with wonderful people from countries and cultures around the world. A community working together, exchanging experiences.

Yes, this is what I think also. Although the time I would spend here would be lesser, but I wouldn't leave for good. At least, not right away, I believe.

@petersum: You are maybe right, but a few dollars from here, and a few dollars from there adds up and for me, as a student without an offline job is still better than nothing. At least, I have some vacation money on summer and that is also good. But I also think that I won't spend so much time here, if Mylot wouldn't pay. I wouldn't quit, but certainly I would not be so active as I am now.

Currently I do use myLot as many would use their Facebook and or myspace. Despite my heavy activity here, I do share a great deal with several friends here. Our pm activity is just if not more higher then my own participation with discussions.
I can't say I would be here all day and or for the length of time I am currently using the site as many would probably leave, therefore, I would interact with my friends if they are still around. But am sure the the activity would lessen for some. Therefore, despite trying to interact here I would continue as I do and communicate by other means.

It seems that you are using Mylot in the way it should, and I mean as a social network. And, contrary to other social sites like Facebook and others, you get a bit of money for your activity. If they would stop paying, I wouldn't leave neither I guess, although I have not a very close relation to the members.

Contrary to you, I believe them, because there are site like Facebook which don't pay and they have millions of users who spend a lot of time there. And there are forums which don't pay, still they have plenty of users. So why should we, the older member get away from this site? Of course, we wouldn't spend so much time, but I guess I wouldn't quit. At least, not for the time there are people who we can talk with.
