Flash Flooding

Its no secret that the weather this year has been crazy all over the US! Fires in Texas, Earthquake in DC and Alaska, and flooding in the Northeast. It definitely makes you wonder what is happening!
Today especially, all of the news has been about the flooding and road closures. This morning all of the major roadways into Philadelphia with few exceptions were closed! So if you did want to get into the city, it took hours. Not very conducive to getting any work done!
After talking to my sister and seeing pictures from near Harrisburg, I feel bad for complaining about the problems here. It is definitely worse there! It hasnt flooded like this for about 40 years! So many people are being affected who usually arent.
Of course there are constantly warnings about not driving through water on the roadways and staying out of the rivers and creeks because it is dangerous. There have already been several people who have died in the floods.
So, if you live somewhere that is flooding, please be safe. Be thankful if you dont have any damage to your property. Dont forget to help out your friends and neighbors who are being greatly affected!
Are you in an area prone to flooding? Are you affected by the current flooding in the Northeast? What kind of weather problems have you had to deal with this year?

We are so blessed here in northern mountain states in the US that I almost feel guilty. Our summer was hotter than normal and fairly dry, but nothing spectacular at all. No fires to speak of, no tornadoes, no earthquakes... makes me wonder when it's going to hit us.
I sympathize with those in the areas being flooded right now. We had a lot of water here about 10 - 15 years ago, but nothing like what's happening in Pennsylvania now.
As the seasons change, we may be the ones with the records. Blizzards are more common here than most places, so we may really be in for it later this year.

Thankfully, the water seems to be receding pretty quickly around here. So hopefully all of the damage has already been done.
You would laugh hysterically if you could watch people around here when we do get snow or blizzards!! No one knows how to deal with it!
I hope that if you do get blizzards, that you can enjoy them. I love snow - I dont even mind shoveling it. But sometimes there can be too much to really be able to enjoy it.

I hope all the damage is over for you!
Yep... I get stories from my daughter in Washington State about how people deal (or don't deal) with snow when it happens. She says everyone stays home, even if it's only an inch.
I love snow, and like you, I don't mind shoveling it. The only time I don't like it is when someone has trouble getting home or has to drive in dangerous circumstances. Other than that, I'm not sure I've ever seen too much snow to enjoy it.

I do love this time of year!! The fall is such a relief after a long hot summer!! I hope you are able to enjoy it!! (And of course avoid any more severe weather, at least for a couple of year!)
