I know people who actually make a living and a pretty good one, just by playing poker. I still to this day haven't really got into it. You can completely ruin your life with it, but you can earn some serious money from it. It seems interesting, but maybe it depends on what kind of person you are.

My friend there's something called bankroll management, and if you do this right, you'll never go bankrupt or take any chances of loosing your grip.
There are two ways of playing poker, one is just pure play without any control just by beting either you have or not the best hand and you will get lucky sometimes with it, but it doesn't give you long term profit.
The other way (for me the only good way) is to play it like is not just a game of fortune or badluck, do it with strategy, do it online and try to make use of the bonuses (with or without deposit) available on severall poker gaming sites.
If you want i can give you the link of a Poker comunity that teaches you to be good at it and even better has a 50 dollars no deposit bonus for everyone who passes a small test about your knowledge of poker.

I play online poker for 5 years now and I win a very good extra money. I don't think right now to be a professional player or something like that, but it's something that I have fun doing and also I can win some good money.
In my opinion, if you are a disciplined and patient person, you can make poker as your main income.

No, I don't play poker. In fact, I don't even know how to play poker. I don't have the affinity for it. I have heard of people becoming very rich playing poker on a regular basis, and people who had become totally broke for playing it. Very interesting. I suppose it needs some skill too !

Yes, I used to play poker online until they recently shut down the online sites. I didn't win enough to earn a living, but I did earn a little bit, enough to buy some things I wanted. I miss my online poker!

You are very right it depends on what kind of person you are.I use to play a lot poker nothing too serious tho.Have some big winnings of tournaments but its a lot time consuming and you must be really patient and since its guarantee noone can win forever even sites gives a lot of attention to people who that that cause most likely they are cheating somehow. If you consider to start poker carier you must read a lot and i mean really a lot.At the begining when i start to read i was wondering "man they didnt say nothing that i dont know",yes most of the time its true but when you know know every details of the game you will know exactly what are you doing and what other people do to{even if they didnt know :)}.Try with haringtons books. And dont invest first use every free money that sites offer out there like pokerstartegy i can help you to pass the test if you still didnt(find me in skype if you interest: glover_1).Adn then if you are succesfull you can consider to go on.But remember its not for everybody!
