I remember one discussion that I made about 4 months ago that has zero response. It is a discussion that probably only a small percentage of members can relate to specifically those who are working in a BPO. But since BPO employees has quite high salary than the regular ones, only a few might be interested in joining myLot. Do you remember any discussion that you made that still doesn't have any response as of today? Kindly share you experience on this.

I also have a discussion about a year ago or few months back that has no response. I'm quite sad because that specific discussion is a question that I hope someone can answer. But it is alright, I'm not bitter about it. Haha!

Hi siliguri, that's very sweet of you. I feel bad whenever I see that discussion. Haha but now, it is alright if there's no response at all. And I agree with bagarad, not all mylotters are very active recently.

Many of those people aren't very active. I was checking out the myLot statistics a couple of days ago to see where my score was in relationship to others. I never did find out because I'm somewhere in the vast middle of what must be close to hundreds of member pages and you can't seem to type in a page number anywhere, so I gave up. There must have been over 20 pages at the low end with members who had a score of just (1), and I wasn't even near the end of them.

Hi ebuscat! I'm not sure if I get it correctly. But is it yes you have a discussion with zero response? Anyway it really happens. There's still a chance that it will have a response in the future.

Business Process Outsourcing. Some big companies don't do all their business processes like accounting, etc. They hire BPO's who do those things for them. They're like call centers, too, where instead of the company itself answering queries, complaints and requests of their customers, they hire these call centers to handle those things.

Actually I've a bit of discussions on here. Fortunately I've no discussions with zero response. But I've four responses on average on the half of the discussions I've started. I often read comments explaining that discussions must be done of good quality. And I agree with those comments. Maybe you can post a discussion and get no responses, but it doesn't mean your discussion is bad. MyLot has to decide it. Don't worry if you don't have any response sometimes and try do ever your best.

Yes I agree. Probably it is not an interesting discussion to them or they just can't relate to it. But I learned my lesson already. Thanks to our helpful users here that shares information on how to increase responses on your discussion like adding friends or choosing an interest where to put that discussion.

Hi chiwasaki, I haven't started any new discussion for quite sometimes therefore so far I don't have any discussion with zero responses. Who knows what would happen to my new discussion if I were to write a new one New posted discussion usually will need some time to receive response or responses. Topic that meet everyone's interest and taste usually would get lots of responses. I think it's impossible for friends to join in all our discussions as it may due to many reasons like lack of time, out of inspiration, expertise knowledge or info is needed, busy with offline schedules, facing internet or pc problem etc.
Happy posting

my latest one is related to internet service. I even forgotten when was it started. After having a check just now, oh gosh it's was released five months back! There are too many tv series, it's impossible for us to watch all of them, therefore only people who have watched it having something to share with in the discussion. I mostly watch Chinese, Korean and Japanese tv series

I watched I think around 6 Korean series for the last 3 months. I'm beginning to watch Japanese series like Nodame Cantabile live action. I don't have any good Chinese series, do you have some that you can recommend?

yep, i have some zero discussions if i'm not wrong and many(the few topics which i have started) that have very few responses. the main reason for this is that i'm not a very good topic or discussion starter and would much rather just respond to discussions or read others' posts. that's what i especially enjoy doing here as it allows me to learn new things and gain new experiences
when you have a zero topic discussion, it can kind of bring your morale down, i know as it has happened to me before, thus i tend to stray away from it. but we can't let this get us down. if we enjoy learning new things, and getting others' opinions, then if we start a topic that interests others, then we're bound to get responses. and thus, we'll learn as it goes on, just what types of topics that people do respond to.

I agree with you. These discussions with zero responses can even teach us something. We can learn something about it. Like what is the reasons why it has no response at all.

Yes, I do have several disccussion that never got any responses. I think it was because I posted them at the wrong time and no one ever saw them. Or they were afraid of the subject matter. Or didn't know anything about it. I am thinking of revamping them and posting them over.

I also think that my discussions with zero response are also posted on the wrong time. Probably I posted it when there are only few users who are online. Or probably I posted it on a wrong interest section.

I had a couple of discussions with zero responses. And it really got me sad because I labor on discussions that I start. So, I posted a discussion expressing my sadness over my zero discussions and some really sweet friends dug up my discussions and posted in them. So, now I don't have a zero response discussion! So, I'll pay it forward by looking at your discussion. And, if I could respond to it, I will!

When I posted this discussion, there's a very helpful user who wants to answer that discussion. There are a lot of people here who are willing to give you a hand. That's very nice that those friends of yours are willing to respond on that discussion.

That's right. I went to your profile and couldn't see any zero response discussion! Try to have as many friends as you can because the more of them, the more they can see your discussions and post on them. That's one of the things the senior lotters told me before. And, from then on, I no longer had 0 responses.

I didn't remember if I had a zero responses discussion. I had to go check my discussions to see if I had any. And you know what? I have one. It seems nobody was interested in that subject so I tried to change the register for my next discussions. I's been a year since that discussion and it still has no responses. I haven't had any "no response" discussions since then but I can't say I started too many discussions.

Most of those discussions with zero response are old discussions already. I probably posted it right away without thinking if my lot users will be able to relate on it. I hope I will be able to make more interesting discussion.

I do have a few discussions, one that had to do with infertility. That was the most desperate one that I wanted answers to. The other ones were like that BPO discussion n that only a few members would be interested n and I did not have enough people in that interest,

Yes only few members works here in BPO. Probably some are not aware what BPO is. So probably those few members are not that active anymore so they weren't able to respond on that.

I think I do but I'm not sure. If you wanna have a discussion that won't have a response, post something long. The least response you'll be getting, I'm betting, is 2 or 3 responders. LOL

Exactly my point. There are times when you're trying to reach the minimum payout and you've had too many long discussions and all you wanna do is respond. I experienced this several times before. Posted quite a number of nonsense. Some thread starters even got angry at me for not reading their discussions well.

There are times that I'm too lazy to read long discussion. I just read the title most of the time if the content is too long. But somehow, those long responses are really what I'm looking for since it is has substance

So far I've managed to post discussions that have all gotten at least two responses, but I have two that only have two responses. I always try to think of who might be interested in a discussion before I post it. One of the least responded discussions I have is aimed at those who own a business for which they have inventory to sell. Since most people I've met at myLot don't need to have inventory to make money, this question has limited appeal. I asked the question because I wondered how other business owners were doing in this recession. I was fortunate to get the two responses.
I envison myLot as a giant cocktail party where there are hundreds of little clusters having conversations. When you walk in the door (myLot website) you immediately search for which little group you want to join by listening in to the various conversations (reading discussion headers). So when you post, you are competing with hundreds of other conversations. I always check my email notifications to see the discussions my friends have posted first and respond to those that interst me before I look for other groups to join. But I rarely get involved in a discussion that doesn't interest me or is not something I know something about. So when I start my own discussion, I try to find a topic that most people have some experience with or an opinion about. So far this has worked pretty well. I would never start a discussion aimed at people who would not be at myLot, such as "How do you rule your country?" aimed at heads of government. Rather I might ask, "What change would you want to see in how your country is ruled?" which anyone with an opinion could answer.

A discussion where everyone can answer can get a lot of responses. However the maximum responses that I have is about 50 I guess. But to think, there's a lot of users but only few are active.

I'm amazed at how many people have only one activity point -- pages and pages of them. Makes me wonder why they joined in the first place. I guess some people think it's so they can make friends they can spam with PMs, and then they find that doesn't work very well.
