Do you use calculator for doing simple mathematical calculation also..?

Many of the people for a simple mathematical calculation like addition, subtraction, etc (simple mathematical calculation doesn't mean 10+2 or 10-9 some bigger number) they depend on calculator which having the ill effect yes it is true Want to proof of it ok. if you are addict of using calculator then i'm asked you to try to sort out simple calculation by your own in rough page i'm 100% sure your accuracy will be not that much to solving the mathematical calculation as before when you were in school or you find little bit difficulty to sort out the calculation. Too much dependency on calculation making your mind dull, so friend i suggest you try to sort your simple calculation by your own rather then depending too much on calculator. If there is an emergency yeah you go for calculator like in office but apart from that try to solve by your own.. So friends what you think about this..?

I used them when I was at school doing the math assignment involving algebra and other math formulas. Now I don't have to use that since I don't have to deal with those formulas. I just calculate it by my ownself now even if it involves long calculations. I still can do that without the calculators.(^^)

I am also counting with my mind when I go shopping, sometimes I got a different total, yet I always have a correct answer when my receipt is received.I really thank my former teacher for teaching us to use our minds in counting,as it helps us a lot in becoming independent in any counting problems.

Simple calculations with additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions are okay with me. When it comes to long calculations with fractions I think I need to use the calculator to solve it unless if it just a simple fraction like when you calculating the discount you get when you do your shopping.(^^)

it's funny but i am so lazy to use calculator or even find it in my pc that i prefer solving mathematical calculations by my own... it's a good exercise for the brain....

You are correct there my friend that counting in our minds make us a responsible person for not being dependent on any machine like the calculator. This is a good exercise to our brains to think right.using of any gadgets like the calculator makes us lazy that even simple counting is done with the calculator, that we are useless without it.

When we were students, calculator was not allowed. So everything we had to do manually. That habit still now persists in people of our age. And so I never use calculator for any purpose except on some rare occasions but that too for reconfirmation of the result derived manually.

You are correct there my friend, that was also true when i was also a student like you before, that using a calculator is forbidden in my classroom,so we were forced to use our mind and manually write the answer in a long calculation of numbers. Now,I find the youth do not know how to count simple numbers as they always use the calculator, that is why I scolded them always for keeping the use of those machine that made them useless when counting with their minds are use.

hhahah.... I was so weak in mathematics and no one can trust on me because I learn full maths even the formula answers, theory all not calculation because learn fully (in hindi we can say Ratta marna)and I got only 52 passing marks in 10th class out of 150 haha...nice sharing I remind my foolish days...

Not all people are gifted to be good at counting, yet you are good at other things, that other people could observe towards what you are doing in your daily routines. You are still a good citizen of your country, that is why you manage to apply all that is best for your work.

I do not like to use calculator for simple calculation.I saw many shopkeepers used to do this. They actually habituated with this things. In my exam I use calculator as it is scientific calculation. As I do simple calculation by not using calculation, then I am 100% sure about my result.

That is correct my friend that using our minds to calculate, makes our style very effective and simple, yet we are sure to have that correct answer.

hi:) even if I want to use calculator in solving mathematical equation at school, I can't because they don't allow it, so I do it manually, but I'm not that good in solving numbers that's why when I'm solving some mathematical problems I have lots of wasted scratch paper.sometimes I do wish that I could use calculator, maybe when I do that I can finish the math problems easier and more correct. have a good day friend!:D

Do not depend on the calculator because using it make you more dependent to use it always. It is very challenging to use your mind to calculate in your math subject, so that you would know where you have any faults in your counting, that you just make another calculation, that you could now have the correct answer.

Yes, I do use a calculator just to be sure and quick. If there is no calculator around, then that is the time I do manual calculation. You have to use modern gadgets to make work faster and more accurate.

hi, when it comes to a simple mathematical calculation i never use calculator instead i will compute it manually through my mind, aside from that computing with the use of mind is really good for our brain to enhance more our logic thinking and to practice computing without calculator.

Yeah I'm absolutely agree with you. Back when my time as a student we were not allowed to use calculator. Those who use calculator are consider cheating. Even for Additional Math we were only allowed to use basic calculator which not help anyway. We have to use our brain to do the complicated calculation. But nowadays students are allowed to use calculator already even in primary school, wtf! I noticed they can't even recite the multiply of 2 as they quickly press the calculator to get the answer when asked! So who should be blame for this? Think for yourself babes.

Long time ago i was working like a bartender in some very nice place.Every night when we calculate the money i use calculator not because i cant without it but just to be 100% sure and sometimes i even made a mistake there, but my bosses were old people the woman was may about 60 or something and she never use calculator and never did ONE SINGLE MISTAKE for the time i work there. It was amazing she had such a big memory and was such a fast thinker and i am not talking about simple calculation i am talking about a bit complicated calculation on hundreds of receipt and commodity calculation revision.

You are correct there my friend that some people are really good in counting things and numbers with their own minds. These people are gifted to have a calculating mind faster just like machines. My mom also is like this, which I try to imitate.I think doing this could make me a math wacko, because I am forcing my mine to count all that amount without any pen or calculator to guide if I am correct or wrong.I have to manage to do my best in this style.

No, I don't use the calculator for calculations, especially minor kinds. I just don't like to depend on the calculator. Maybe if it's a huge amount for calculation, then I will use a calculator. What if you're paying at the store with a very simple amount and you can't even come up with the change you're supposed to have without the calculator in your hand. So, I would rather not use the calculator at all if things aren't complicated.

Nah I personally don't. First off it'll take more time to get me a calculator than it does to do a simple mathematical calculation myself and beside that you'd get pretty dumb when doing every calculation ( also the simple ones ) with a calculator, at least that's what I think and see. Many of my classmates do use calculators for the most simple calculations and I'm like "why the hell you'd need a calculator for that?", they just cannot do calculatons by mind anymore... which is a shame, because it's not hard at all, but since a lot of people replace doing it by mind by doing it by calculator, they find it hard to do it themselves also for simple calculations.

That's good friend try to solve the simple mathematical calculation manually rather than depending on the calculator it will make your mind sharp. Many of friends have the habit for using calculator for simple summation and they do find difficulty in the competitive examination where they have to do mathematical calculation i have said them several times try to solve the mathematical calculation by your own... Thanks webcodez for the response...

I don't prefer using calculator for such simple mathematical calculations. But I understand, if you have to work with a lot of numbers and calculations, then you need a calculator. In school for tests, on work, etc. But if you need to calculate something that is easy to calculate it is dumb to use calculator.

When I am counting too many numbers,I have to use a calculator, yet when it is just a simple and few numbers,I can calculate it in my head instantly.Using of calculator makes our work very easy and fast to finish, yet it also make our minds useless,as we can not count without the aide of the machine. It makes us lazy not to count with our minds to think the right amount.

No I don't. If I can compute for it with my brain, then I use my brain instead of looking for a calculator. But if the numbers are really big or I'm preoccupied and my brain doesn't work so fast, I use a calculator.

I don't use calculator that much. When it comes to computing my budget, that's when I use my calculator. Other than those, no, especially if it's a simple computation such as 1 + 1 = 2.

If it is just a simple calculation, as much as possible I don't use calculator. If the numbers are a bit big and it only involves addition and multiplication, I can use a paper and pen. If the computation involves division and subtraction, I'll use a calculator since I'm not that used to it unlike the other two.

hi! Siliguri I also don't use a calculator for simple problem but I use it for some of my physics problems which can't be solved without calculator. On the other hand if we use a calculator for simple problems like simple addition or multiplication which we can solve easily without a calculator. It reduce our mental ability because we are not using it. The othe effect is on sccial life also because this activity reduce our self confidence. So we are better to avoid to use calcultor for simple problem
