when life gets hard, or you feel stressed, how do you personally cope with it?

No time to sit and worry. the new problem make me to think the present problem simple. Life is not filled with only problems. there are so many pleasant things are mixed up with problems. these happy moments help me to reduce the stress.

very good you can find something positive to do! kudos! that's hard for a lot of people, namely me. (yes, im a filthy, filthy smoker) i wish i could just read or listen to music :) sometimes music helps too, but the book, ahhh when i'm stressed i can't read anything.

It depends what's causing the stress. If I'm causing it by trying to do more than I have time for, I stop writing and go to bed earlier. If my churning mind is keeping me from sleeping, or if I hurt too much to sleep on my own, I take a mild sleeping pill so I can get a good night's sleep if possible. After a good night's sleep my perspecitive is often better. If I'm stressed because I'm in a rut and my mind refuses to concentrate on my work and demands relaxation, I go for a walk or read a mystery or other book that's escape literature. If my stress is because I'm worried about something or I'm trying to solve a problem, I ask God for his peace and help, and wisdom and focus on Him instead of the hard thing that's stressing me. If the stress is something I caused myself in some way, I try to undo what caused it, if that's possible. If all else fails, I let out with my famous (with family) banshee howl that I reserve for such occasions, and that helps release the steam and pent up frustration.
