Hello Fellow myLotters,
As some of you may know, I have been having a lot of trouble finding a job lately.
Well, I applied at a local Dollar General Store on Monday, and then decided to call them back Thursday to check back with the assistant manager to see if she has had a chance to review my application yet.
She informed me she had not yet had a chance, because she had been busy with the delivery trucks coming in and such. However, she told me to give her a call back on Monday.
So far, this is the first time an employer has told me to give them call back. I feel really good about this, and am hoping I get this job!
Do you think that her asking me to give her a call back on Monday is a good thing? Is it a good sign? Please tell me what you think.

It certainly is a positive direction! Yes I think it is a good sign because if she was not interested in interviewing and or hiring you she would have said, we have it on file.
Make sure to call and hopefully this will be a job for you soon!

If for any reason she says she has not had time on Monday, be sure to say something like I am really interested in working at your store and don't mean to inconvenience you in any way, but when I can I call you again. I really appreciate your time.
This way you won't be pondering if she is just one of those slow hiring managers and or this way she can see how much you really want the job.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

How could it be bad? Could you explain a way that it could be bad?

i think judy just means it could be bad as in.. ok she hasn't read your application, but when she does, it might be a no.. so when you ring on monday they might say no. i think thats all she was saying. x

I can't think of it being bad, but I would hate to call and then find out the position has been filled already... anything could happen. However, I am thinking it is a GOOD sign for you... hoping you get the job! let us know!

Wow, I keep answering questions about getting a job and I have had no experience..lol Personally to me that sounds very promising Angelee, I really hope you get this job, I know how much you been working to find one..
Now, after you call on Monday, I expect an update, because I can't see why she'd want you to call if you didn't have a chance..

Angelee, your recent job sounds quite promising since the assistant manager had asked you to call back on Monday. From my own previous experiences, whenever the assistant manager or even the manager had request you to do so, it means your application have hope to get approve. But, only by calling back on Monday, you will get the chance to know the exact result. Hope to hear good news from you about your job. Good luck to you, Angelee....

It sounds promising to me that they might be interested in you. It could be the person was just being nice.. but I still feel encouraged for you. It shows you REALLY want the job... that should account for something.

Ya it does seem promising as she has not said anything flatly to you but giving out the signals that she is interested in you.
I think all these things are in your favor.I wish you all the best and do give your 100% on your interview.I pray to God that you get the job to fulfill your dreams.
Best of luck and do update us.
