Absolutely possible!
It's surprisingly easy to run multiple Oporating Systems on your computer.
If you don't have a lot of experience installing various oporating systems and would rather do it the 'easy way' I can suggest the following pieces of software:
- Boot Camp
- VMware Fusion
- Parallels Desktop
ALl these allow you to install various opportating systems on your system.

i know installing multiple operating systems in a single pc....i have been using using it since a long time ago. used simultaneously win7 and XP; xp and linux.
but i doubt whether mac installs on windows based pc or not. hardware requirements may change. for example keyboard for mac you get is completely different when compared to normal pc.

I haven't tried that before. How about a little experiment and try installing windows on your pc then installing mac on a separate partition or drive. I haven't tried that before but it would be nice if you have mac and windows OS both on just a single pc.

i am also thinking about the same thing installing on a separate drive...will it require any changes to my pc while installing it?
thanks a lot for responding.

it's possible but you'll have to check your PC hardware. If they are supported by Mac OS X lion then you can install it on your PC. If for instance your soundcard doesn't supported by Mac OS X then you cannot use your soundcard on MacOSX..

You could try the Mac-On-A-Stick. Just go over PortableApps.com, you can download one from there. I haven't really tried Mac-On-A-Stick. Anyway, experiencing Mac is just like any other experience, you'll be excited the first time you use it, but after some time, you'll realize, this is just another software. There's really not much to experience in a Mac OS, same thing with Windows, unlike Linux, especially if you're working on its kernel.

I am not sure but I highly doubt it. These are two competing companies and so they would probably take steps to make it extremely difficult for something like that to be done. However I think anything is possible though. It just depends on how far you are willing to go.
