Would it be cheaper to repair your cell rather than buy those insurance?

I am just curious about your past experience with those expensive smart phone or Iphone insurance that you purchase from your service providers. If you are interest in buying a particular type of cell phone, like the smart phone or iPhone, they usually cost more than $200 or $300 above without the contract restriction. The providers would offer you insurance to protect those cell phones, do you think it is worth to buy those insurance. What if, hypothetically, you broke your cell within a month period of time, would it be cheaper to bring it to the cellphone repair shop to get it repaired? Most cases are broken touch screen, or bad battery. What do you think?

Hi. for me it's better to buy a new one than to repair it. If you just repair it, chances are greater that it will broke again.

I'm not really sure. I have never owned a cell phone with a contract before. I use the prepaid ones.
