Hello Fellow MyLotters! I've been busy these past few days and so I've no time to start a discussion nor respond to yours and to those who commented on my previous discussions. Please bear with me, and I promise to get back to you all as soon as I finish everything that I need to process. Since, I've been busy processing papers so I could go to Taiwan by December for study, there's one agency that I was really shocked about. I was at NSO (National Statistics Office) and got my Birth Certificate and went next to DFA (Dept. of Foreign Affairs) for document authentication and was done around 9:30 in the morning. And so, I thought that I still had enough time to process NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) Clearance. I went as soon as I can to Robinsons Ermita, (since they have an outlet there and opens at 10:00am) just to find out that I was already too late for they only accept 500 applicants per day. They even told me that I have to get a number first which I've to get from Sta.Monica to be accepted the next day. Then, my sister who was there with me told me that she got her NBI Clearance at Alabang so easily and so we did not waste time and headed off to there. The sooner as we arrived to the place, there we saw a long line of applicants which zigzagged around the place. Oh! What's with this new NBI system? It wasn't like this before! The guard suggested me that I have to be there as early as 1 A.M. (take note 1AM) to be included in the 600 applicants for the next day. This is very shocking for me. Now, I've to get up early and decide where to get NBI Clearance this coming Monday. *whew!* Wish me luck myLotters!

I hope Monday goes better for you. I see on the news people lining up like that for Movies, and concerts and I know I would not do that, but in your case it sounds like what you need to do .

Hi ronadelle! Yeah. It was in the news a few weeks ago. NBI had "upgraded" their system but they are still adapting to it so there are still delays in the processing. I was fortunate to have applied for an NBI clearance before they did the upgrading. But I still got my clearance after a week or two since I'm here in the province and not everything is in instant. Anyway, I hope you get your clearance as soon as possible and don't forget to bring us souvenirs from Taiwan! Good luck!

yes friend patience is a virtue, "tiyaga" (patience)is what we Filipinos do not lack, I really think it's one of the virtues that had helped us all survive despite of all the odds stacked up against us. I think the NBI clearance thing is still about that company that handles their data and computers leaving them (not sure), just makes me wonder how they can handle crimes in our country if they can't handle simple requirements like an NBI clearance, hope government will put this in the list of their top priorities.

Patience is a virtue. But when I read your story one really need a lot of patience, and I wonder if I could do it. But, when someone likes to achieve something very important like you do, I can imagine you'll take the effort. Wish you luck.

ronadelle, To be honest, I just do not fancy your country's bureaucracy especially the NBI here. Stopping everything in your life and queuing overnight to get some clearance is unthinkable. Patience aside, I hope you will be able to resolve this queue issue - I've heard there are some people that will queue for you with a fee. You may want to consider this to help you. All the best. P.S. If you are considering the latter please pay them in part.

I hope so my friend, but I do not know anyone who can do this for me that I can trust and besides I'd like to pay attention to it myself since lots of scams are out there. It's better to make sure that my document isn't fake. I'm sad that it's really like this here in our country but I'm hoping that the system will be better soon. I heard from the news that they're on it of pursuing online application like what they do at Dept. of Foreign Affairs. No need to line up but by schedule or appointment. I really hope it's soon!

Hi there, I think patience is a virtue. There's benefits to be patient when you waiting for God to answer and hear your prayers. Besides being impatient won't get anywhere. So yeah, I wish you luck.

That is really awful. I think bureaucracy is everywhere. I don't understand why they need computers if they still produce tones of tones of papers. There is no logic in it. In UK They produce more paper that you could imagine. Sometimes they ask you to feel the form on line and after few days they sending you the same for in paper. Few days ago I received letter from Tax office. The letter informed me that second letter with decision will be send soon. Where is the logic here? Why they sent me letter with information about letter. Is just stupid.

I am sorry I do not much idea about the long queues in your country but in our India for for almost everything we have to line up. Even if it is the school admission of pre-nursery for our toddler or its a famous temple on a festival day. Of cofurse these days the online services has made the lines thinner but still the passport, the driving license or any where you have to personally be there can be assured of the long lines...it reminds me a quote of Shakespeare 'A high hope for a low heaven - God grant us patience' Wish very soon you get all the stuffs cleared and be back with your mylot team.

I wish you good luck for getting up early as possible. I think it is better to give luck for that.I think you are taking passport. In my country also we have such huge procedure and millions of applicant are applied for it. I think we will learn what patience from this. It is no doubt it is a virtue. Due to lack of patience has resulted to bloodshed in countries even in families. One has to work hard in order to get succeeded. So patience is a part of success. So one had to sacrifice in order to get succeed and also one will get good reward from the God.
