all the people of the world to unite

i am a south african and love my country even in the new democratic country and i ask why can all the different religions of the world not unite instead of one trying to destroy the other does it matter if we all serve who we see as our god and just love each other instead of trying to rule the world because each says his or her god is greater than the next it sounds like the children my dad is bigger than your dad and can beat up your dad is this what life is all about?

I have never understood why love of one's country, faith in one's religion and respect for one's culture EVER has to mean disliking or even hating those who do not share your views and experiences. Someday, perhaps, we will not have to fear those with so narrow a view.
