One person for example may want to have a discussion simply to get to know what others think or feel about a specific topic. This could be valuable information as it gives a different perspective than ours perhaps or confirms something. Another person might have a more direct purpose. Like learning something about discussions or mylot. Of course if there is little response/comment then there can be little discussion.
