You know, I hate garbage thats why I make it a point that whatever trash i have at home are thrown in my garbage can and if im not able to make it in time for the garbage truck then i make sure that all my garbage are sealed and ready for the next pick up. However, I've noticed that not everyone has the same attitude about their trash. I get upset over people who throw their trash carelessly. I would see people eating then throw the wrapper right there on the street not bothering to find any garbage cans nearby. One time, I was travelling on a public transportation and there was a woman with her daughter who was eating, and the mother actually told her daughter to throw the wrapper of whatever it was outside the moving vehicle. How can the young learn to throw their garbage properly if the adults are not setting a good example? You can see a lot of examples of this. People who don't care about cleanliness. I hate it most when its an adult who does it. Im not surprised why we have a problem with garbage.

That's right. Recycling is the only way to minimize garbage disposal problem. Segregation also help, biodegradable in the compost area and non-biodegradable in the collection bag for plastics, bottles and cans for the junk buyer the next time it comes around.

People complain when the environment is dirty and full of garbage but they don't realise that EVERYONE is responsible for it. You may be throwing garbage in the bins but if you see some garbage on the floor and ignore it, you are no different than those who threw it there in the first place. Everyone needs to cooperate in order to keep the environment clean. We shouldn't just throw it everywhere and think, "Hey, there are janitors and cleaners working here after all. We need to give them work to do." You don't like it when you get extra work do you? Neither does anyone else. So be responsible for your own trash.

In my home country it is illegal to drop litter. The garbage has to be put into a bin or into a recycling container. If I am out and I have garbage I usually take it home with me to put in my own kitchen bin. If there is a nearby bin that isn't full I put my rubbish into that. I pick up my dog's mess and place it in a doggy mess bin. If there isn't a doggy bin I place it in my own rubbish bin outside my home.
At home I have a black bin outside, a green box for recycling and a brown box for food scraps. I have traveled to some countries where I have seen beaches covered in garbage: yuck. Children need to be taught how to get rid of garbage like in a bin. It is also important for them to learn about recycling.

Hi, artistic_temper. I can really relate to your discussion here. I have a trash dumpster right on the left corner of my front yard. It seems like everyday that I go outside, I always tend to find trash of any kind on the ground around the dumpster. I even have someone that will just come and put their trash bag in the dumpster, only to have it hanging out halfway! I never can understand why they would do something like this. People are just not caring these days, they don't know what the word "cleanliness" means. My father-in-law has even littered in my front yard. While he was waiting in his car for his son to come outside, I saw him literally just throwing his empty peanut shells in my front yard. I did not say anything to him about it. But when he left, I went outside and I picked up every last peanut shell that he tossed onto the ground. I am sure that this is not the first time that he has ever done this too. I just feel like the adults should enforce cleanliness to their children. If the children see them littering, then they will think that it is okay for them to do the same thing too. Parents are the child's first teacher anyway. What gets me is if someone seed that my front yard is clean, then after they dump their trash, they should pick up any debris that they have deposited on my front yard. "If is clean when you came to it then, it should be clean when you leave from it". That is how I view this issue!

Garbage is proof that there is life. Something in favour of garbage I suppose But you are right. Everything has a place and most things are placed where they belong excepting garbage. It is not difficult at all to put the garbage where it belongs. Some countries punish those who do not know follow the garbage rule and I am in favour of such a rule. The whole world should follow it.

There are many garbage because there are also a huge amount of people on earth. Every day there are tons of waste produces and it keeps on increasing. Some people are already aware of the so called recycling but still some of us do not participate on it. I don't know what the earth will looks like after many years of producing billions of garbage everyday.

Hi!
I know what you mean! I see a lot of people like that, carelessly throwing garbage everywhere without thinking of the consequences. It always irritates me whenever I see someone littering. Sometimes I give these people a smirk or look annoyed while looking at the garbage they threw. And I am also not surprised why we have garbage problem and I'm not even talking about the national garbage problem. In our barangay we already have that. Our streets easily get flooded from a heavy downpour.
This is why I get angry at my nieces and nephews when they litter. I scold them whenever I see them littering. I try to teach my little niece and nephew to always throw garbage at the right place, if they can't find a trash can, then put the garbage in their pocket. And I hate it because my little nephew does not obey me. No matter how many times I told him littering causes flood, he still throws plastic anywhere.

Yup that's why our world is going to crap. It will not kill you to keep the trash in your car til you have a chance to empty it. So what if you find it in your car later on when you go to clean it. At least you will be throwing it away properly.
